Kia Kaha Colin,

What other ex-WSBK rider is keeping up on these 250esque MotoGP bikes?

Colin continues to perform fantastically on a non-factory bike. He continues to be a shining light in personality throughout the field and I hope that he continues within the MotoGP paddock.

And commenting that Assen is his best track? If you look back over Colins MotoGP history, he has had 2 podiums in Assen, but also 2 in france and 2 in GBR. His performance in Laguna was fantastic that first year, so hopefully the improved bike will allow him to use his track knowledge to the maximum and pressure for another podium and maintain his best form since 2005.

MOTOGP » Edwards: In the past I'd have been on the podium

After riding as hard as he could for fourth place in Saturday’s Dutch TT, Colin Edwards stated that this year’s MotoGP rider line-up is the toughest he’s faced since joining the class in 2003.

Looking forward to seeing him partnered with Spies at Tech 3 next year! Colin is getting old in the grand scheme of things and some are already writing him off but how can you argue with his results! Not just top privateer either. Toseland's days are numbered unless he has some dirt on Carmelo Ezpelata.

CE rode within his limits and fourth is/was the result. Doubt if he could have caught Stoner riding outside his limits. Wish he had that little bit extra that the factory equipment gives. He had it before but this year is better than previous.

Well, reading between the lines, I'm not sure that CE hasn't become a little disenchanted with his lot in MotoGP. Assen is his best track and was his best shot of a podium this year. It sounds like he's acknowledging he's unlikely to win a race -- or possibly even podium again -- against this field, on that bike. I wouldn't be surprised if he chose to end his career winning races again (and maybe another Championship) with Aprilia in WSBK.

ive been a colin edwards fan for a long time, and though still very fast i think he should go to wsbk at end of season where he could possibly have two or more years challeging for wins and championship, it has to be better than riding harder than ever and still not making podium, plus toseland on ten kate just to add bit more spice.

CE is a quality rider and keeps producing results.
I think JT has missed his input this year.

I think with him still being a very fast and consistent rider, yamaha will want him to help spies in his first year. Unless spies stays in worldsbk and then he could be on his way out. Realistically i don't think he'll be winning another sbk title. And he'll pick up more money for running around in the top 5 in gp's than a superbike ride. At his time of life i think he'll be following the money

VRob, U can be sure that Colin knows he can't win a race even because no one won a 800cc MotoGP race in privateer machine ever and as he said the field in the factory teams is just too strong... So strong that not even Repsol Honda won a single race in the last 18 outings.

Despite that he is challenging fourth place in the championship in a field of 8 factory drivers is a great showing (I didn t considered Elias as I think Tech3 machinery is very close to factory bikes, as Elias Bike doesn t exactely match Repsol Honda bike, close but no the same).
