I think Rossi spent 30 odd laps thinking about the post race rubbish celebrations and not about the race itself. Really the Ducati and Honda are not in the same class as the Yamaha. The electronics upgrades on the Yamaha have given it more of an edge over the other bikes in the field.

I just wish it would go back to when riders rode without all these electronics aids, say pre late 90's and riders won on talent and not because of special overnight Michelins, electronic aids.

Imagine what Hailwood, Ago and Doohan would have done with these same advantages that Rossi has had?

MOTOGP » Rossi: Suddenly Pedrosa was just in front!

Valentino Rossi was surprised by the pace of Dani Pedrosa in Sunday’s US Grand Prix - and even more surprised to find himself zeroing-in on the Spaniard with just a few corners to go.

Great effort by Pedrosa and what a start. Even with injury he still tries 100%. Also no complaints about injury or pain unlike some. I also think that Pedrosa is probably a perfectly nice bloke who simply has a **** in Puig speaking for him. Well done to Valentino who looks like things may pan out for another championship but probably way to early to say...

Great ride by Pedrosa no doubt but, you gotta give it up to Rossi and Lorenzo for the way they rode today. Rossi had his hands full fighting off Lorenzo and that also played into Pedrosa's hand and if it wasn't for that, I'm almost certain that Rossi would've stalked him down like he was doing until Lorenzo caught him because, at that point, Rossi was forced to play prevent to try to keep Lorenzo at bay. It's also very awesome to see Rossi paying respect to Pedrosa after being beat by him. Just goes to show how much of a TRUE Champion he really is!

No, I doubt that Rossi would have been able to hunt Pedrosa down like he usually does. He did gap Stoner quite a bit before Lorenzo was even close and was free to go after Pedrosa for several laps, but didn't quite make any ground on him regardless.
And 5 laps or so before the end the Honda team apparently showed Pedrosa a much smaller gap to Rossi on the pitboard to spur him on and suddenly Pedrosa had another 0.3 secs advantage on Rossi after one lap where he put the hammer down.
If the race had been a bunch of laps longer, then yes, maybe Rossie would have been able to catch him, but Lorenzo was not the reason for him not being able to do so this time.

roadking03 :- "and for you Rossi fans get over it!!"

Get over what exactly? No one's bitching about Pedrosa's emphatic win. It was well deserved, adding another rider winner to 2009.
Valentino extended his WC standings with his 2nd place at Laguna Seca. Sounds good to me.

A happy MotoGP/Rossi fan :)

roadking03, your response would be fair enough if you waited for the regular bashing but it's not (yet) on this thread. Two trolls don't make a right. :)
