billie morini - my sympathies on what was obviously a devastating illness. But surely that only suggests that what, if anything, Stoner has is not the same thing? I mean, with the symptoms you describe you'd admit that there is no way you would have been wrestling an animal like that Ducati round a demanding circuit and still landing a creditable fourth??? He may or may not be genuinely ill (and again, as a non-fan, I do think he has looked pretty rough on occasion), but if he really had something as bad as EB he would be in the HOSPITAL. It's like my mum, gets a mild cold and claims it's the ebola virus. Can't help but notice the old wrist has started to be rolled out as a backup excuse too

There is no medication for loss of confidence, Girli has it bang to rights, a win and a pole would see him a big challenger again, the duke has the nuptuals if Nicky can finish fifth no question.. difficult to ride but I suspect handled correctly would wipe the floor with Honda and Yamaha..

"There is no medication for loss of confidence"

Yes there is, it's just not legal! :-) Now THAT would be a site to behold on the grid!

Suppo said " you can't beat Valentino Rossi unless you are on a much superior bike". Now if the M1 is better than GP 09 then according to suppo stoner has no real chance to beat Rossi in 2009 wheather he is ill or not & the fact is Stoner knows nothing about bike development

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a nightmare to diagnose. Essentially it is tiredness (plus a selection of other symptoms, often but not always including dizziness, stomach disturbances, headaches and unrefreshing sleep) lasting for more than six months, with no other medical explanation. Thus, diagnosing it is one big long process of exclusion - and treating it is even bigger, if not impossible. We can only hope this is not what Stoner has, although there are other more sinister possibilities. There may be a mental aspect in addition or instead - a realisation that he can't match Rossi on equal equipment, fear of redamaging the wrist etc.
