Kenlucky kid and Yank Spanker or whatever your name is. Are you guys by any chance French? Because you two sound like the same anti American haters that Lashed out at Lance Armstrong for so many years. Nicky Hayden is the greatest MotoGP racer of the 990cc MotoGP Era!!! :)

Live with it you constipated French ****s!

MOTOGP » Hayden: Home fifth as hard as a win

The US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca was arguably a make or break moment for home star Nicky Hayden, who came into the event with a best finish of eighth from his first seven races as a factory Ducati rider.

@ Math Teacher,

Don't bend the words.. He said fifth as HARD as a win (not as GOOD).

With his current situation, I have to agree...

unless you are stoner, you have to try very hard to even come 5th.... And NH does that.. try hard....

well, you may be a math teacher, but how's ur reading comprehension.......

Hey RawDawg you forgot one thing when that Aussie flag flies in one corner there is the union jack proud and true. So every Aussie victory is just that little bit British due to the fact they are our worse dressed poorly mannered cousins who (until they see sense) still fly our colours.
God bless the Queen and God bless the colonies

RawDawg - Jeez you really need to chill out man. Get down to your local Walmart and buy yourself a good sense of humour. If you get anymore uptight your going to give yourself a coronary. It's only a forum ffs, not a life or death issue!

For sure KRJ and Hayden won their titles all fair and square but...neither of them are half the rider the likes of Schwantz, Rainey, Lawson, Spencer, or KR was. KRJ did well in 2000 but his attitude let him down. I'm not going to start the whole Hayden 2006 argument, it's all been done too many times.

Hope your right about a new crop of USA riders headed by Spies. God knows MotoGP could certainly do with some talented non-euros to add to the mix.

Wow I could have sworn Nicky won a title in the four stroke era............and I don't recall Roberts Jr title being 20 or 30 years ago..............so I guess Americans have 2 out of the 4 champions THIS decade no?

And I did read your post and especially the part about "little nadgers"...........

And I brought up the Aussies because they aren't "Euro" either.

And GPs really fell off here after Schwantz retired and no GP race and WSBK and AMA got huge but now with the GPs back in the States and AMA's demise there will be more Yanks on the scene. I'm sure you guys cant wait............

Hey RawDawg try understanding my post before getting all defensive on me buddy! I am talking about the modern 4 stroke era not 20 or 30 seasons ago. So please lets not go down the Ago, Hailwood, Duke road...

Yes, the USA has produced some mighty talented and fearless riders in the past, of which Schwantz was the last true legend, but they broke the mould when he retired. The GP scene just doesn't seam right without a fast, crazy American to entertain us. So all I'm saying is that nobody has really stepped up to the plate to fill that void.

I really hope Spies gets himself sorted with a top GP ride next season and hopefully he can be that man.

BTW - Where did I mention Australians?

hey Euroboy

Americans and Aussies have won like 22 or so out of the last 30 seasons. You have to thank Rossi the Great and Criville for breaking up that consecutive run from '82. And Rossi is the only "Euro" with a title this decade. So you can get off your high horse buddy. And if you're not from Italy Euroboy than you don't have many titles to cheer for do you?

Hayden, Edwards and Hopkins have almost 21 seasons riding between them. That's somewhere around 350 GPs and only 3 lucky wins to show for it :? Somewhere along the way Americans seam to have forgot how to ride GP bikes fast or they just leave their tiny nadgers in the locker room

Okay Nicky is definitely not in the same league as Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner and Pedrosa, but they are on a different planet to everyone else! Perhaps Dovi and Malandri on a good day may have a bit more in the tank than Nicky! But take these riders out of the equation and he's at least as good if not better than the remaining 10 riders and that still makes him above average.

Considering that since the start of the Rossi domination era in 2001, then very few riders have actually won more than a few races, other than the notable exception of the Stoner/Ducati combination.

As Dawg rightly points out, he isn't the best...but he certainly isn't the worst by a long way! :?
