MOTOGP » Hayden: Home fifth as hard as a win

The US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca was arguably a make or break moment for home star Nicky Hayden, who came into the event with a best finish of eighth from his first seven races as a factory Ducati rider.

I say givem hell kenlucky :) the hayden lovers on here spout so much rubbish it makes me wanna puke. Apparently haydens 06 bike was running an 800cc and was the slowest honda on the grid :-o. I looked it up and hayden was more often than not the fastest honda and almost always faster than the yamaha (an extra cylinder will do that). At valencia the top speed of his honda was on par with the ducati's. I'm sorry but you don't test next years engine parts on a V5 990 when next years engine is going to be a V4 800 . But if were talking electronics, that I understand and believe. Yes it took every ounce of honda wizardy to get that WC for hayden and a sheit load of bad luck for Rossi.

JEEZUUHSSS would you guys please stop feeding the trolls!!

Hayden isn't Rossi we get that!

Now get over it and move on!

Kenlucky, move out of your moms house and get a hobby as someone else suggested that doesn't involve a certain American MotoGP Champion male lust object for you. Maybe politics is your bag. I hear George Bush is easy to bash!

It would have been interesting to have seen Haydens (1)progression if he had indeed started his MotoGP career with any team other than Repsol Honda and not had the services of Rossi to babysit him for the first season. I would wager anything that Hayden would not have performed anything like as good as JT and would not have lasted 2 seasons maximum. But of course we all know that Hayden was only recruited as a marketing strategy to boost North American bike sales. There were plenty more riders around at the time that would have done sooo much more with the opportunity.

(1) Delete progression and replace with regression. :)

I suppose Kenlucky thinks Fernando Alonso's 05 title was lucky as well.

Give Hayden credit. Rossi has totally dominated MotoGP since he came on the scene. Anyone who has more than a couple of premier class wins in the Age of Rossi is the real deal. Anyone who takes away Rossi's title for a season is sure to earn the never ending wrath of his fanboys.

Kenlucky "Rossi did not finish in 06 or 07th 8th. "

Right, in '06 he finished 2nd....because a lot of other riders were out with injuries. I guess he got lucky.

Lance Armstrong ...Oh my Lord....Not only did he dominate France's national sport for 7 years, but he has taken three years off and come back to win it again.
Tomorrow he may just take the yellow shirt and they have not even headed into the mountains as yet. Oh Lord!!!
If he wins his 8th, then he can be in the same company as Rossi
Eight sorry to be so late and make you wait!!
