Kenlucky kid and Yank Spanker or whatever your name is. Are you guys by any chance French? Because you two sound like the same anti American haters that Lashed out at Lance Armstrong for so many years. Nicky Hayden is the greatest MotoGP racer of the 990cc MotoGP Era!!! :)

Live with it you constipated French ****s!

MOTOGP » Hayden: Home fifth as hard as a win

The US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca was arguably a make or break moment for home star Nicky Hayden, who came into the event with a best finish of eighth from his first seven races as a factory Ducati rider.

I would completely agree with you, Kenlucky, but the opposite was true regarding the 211VEvo. By all accounts, HRC was using the Evo to begin working parts development for the 212V. HRC admitted IN WRITING that they expected that to be a 5th place finishing bike. Dani turned DOWN the opportunity at bike development and opted for the 05 which was what people regard as the most dominant variant of the 211V. The Evo was not. So, in that regard, you are incorrect. I would also agree that the CAT incident was bad if Melandri didn't follow it up with a 5 pod/1 win. Capirossi finished 4 pod/2 wins. Hayden was still looking forward to the Estoril incident and broken collarbone!

Kenlucky, again I agree. Stoner didn't damage control. He killed the field. Dani finished 2nd that year, but wasn't even in the same VICINITY of Stoner. Stoner had a clear advantage of tires, electronics, bike AND 1L more fuel which worked GREAT for the Ducati! It wasn't until AFTER testing that year that the Ducati was honed for Stoner (at the expense of Capi). On the other end, the M1 and RC were utter garbage. I mean seriously, Rossi 3rd place?!? In 08, it was purely a Stoner-Rossi show, but even then, Dani was left to clean up the scrap. After Dani was INJ they finally started doing something for NH. He finished 08 really strong. If not for an INJ and DNF, he would be ahead of Dovi.

Kenlucky You are some crazy a55.
Just watch Assen 06, second to last lap! Hayden passed Edwards at the end of the back straight and Colin run on of track. He was able to stay behind Nicky just because there is a asphalted run off area (generally he cut the corner thanks to that). That is the only reason why he re-passed Hayden later.
But there always will be ignorants like You who see only the last corner.
Nicky deserved that win. Period.

As for whole 2006- read about it! Read about Honda in 2006, Haydens bike, Pedrosas bike. Problems with clutch etc.
If You ever had the knowledge about how difficult 2006 was for Hayden, Youd never write that sh*t that You do now.
True CHAMP!!

Kenlucky, you must have blinders on. During and after the 07 season, Rossi was a HUGE whiner. So many times I read where fans lost respect for him because he whined so much. Trust me, I don't blame him. Yamaha dropped the ball and Michelin... I can't even explain without profanity. What Stoner is today was Rossi in 07. He whined about everything from bike to tires. He threatened to leave Yamaha unless he got the tires and the bike! And to Hayden's credit, not once did he blame Honda for his trials. Even when they gave him the pink slip, he didn't take the opportunity to bash 'em. Does that now with the Duc. Hard bike to ride, blames himself. Even when he gets 5th he gives credit to the team.

In no way do I think Nicky is tte best of the grid but Kenlucky has a distorted view of the past. in @006 Honda rolled out the Evo bike to test parts for the upcoming 800cc era they pushed for for their golden boy Danny. In preseason testing Danny declared it garbage and said he wouldn't ride it. Nicky rode his 05 and the 06 Evo and was 1.5s slower on the Evo but had no choice but to ride it because Danny refused. There were constant problems with the bike testing new parts (clutches, chassis, etc.) There was one race where Nicky ran off because the brand new frame and swingarm HRC sent on a race weekend sucked and Nicky ran off and I think saslvaged 11th.

HRC did this while Nicky was in position to challenge for the title. Nicky was still professional and said that hopefully they won't test such drastic changes or new parts on a race weekend again. His teammate wrecks him and everyone thought the title was handed to Rossi. In the final round Rossi qualified better and Hayden got a rocket start and brushed Rossi as he went by to turn 1. Rossi was chasing Nicky and made a rare mistake similar to what happened when Barros got a 211 and outbraked him a few times at the end of 02. Rossi crashed and gave Nicky the title that at that time was his to lose. hayden did what he had to, despite all of the crap he had to deal with that season. CLASS ACT!

If I'm not mistaken, Pedro had first shot at the Evo bike and said no way. Somebody had to do the work so that left NH whether he wanted it or not. I kinda recall him not being overly impressed with that either since he thought he had seniority on the team.

And didn't that bike come with clutch problems all year too? Sure he had some luck due to others misfortunes but it wasn't all rosy that season either (punted by team mate).

Great job Nicky. Finally some results are showing up with the Ducati in someone elses hands with out it being a WET/DRY race: top 10 in Barce, fighting for 6th in Assen, and beat 2 factory Hondas (albeit 1 was a crash, but he passed Elias and held him off fairly easily looking at the lap times) and 2 satellite Yamahas in LS. Its quite clear he is improving because his times are also coming up during all the sessions of the week. I hope he will challenge Dovizioso for 4th best before the season is over.

different situation and condition with melandri last year. melandri took 5th last year at shanghai which it was rain and wet..while the michelin rider had hard time with michelin in wet race...now all using the same tyre and not in wet race.. so i think nicky really really fought to get his 5th place in laguna seca than melandri in shanghai ...

and nicky just ignore the haters okay..they dont know who you are... so ...just ignore all the stupid comments they made....wont hurt you or us your fans... :)
