MOTOGP » Toseland black flag for missing 'harsh' penalty

James Toseland had a day to forget at Laguna Seca on Sunday, being black flagged on lap 11 after failing to serve a ride-through penalty for jumping the start.

unfortunately i have to agree that Toselands career in GP is probably over after this.it is a great pity.he was the only British rider in the field to fly the flag.i think Ben Spies may well get to replace him next season.time will tell.

@ Stitcho

He received a ride-through penalty for the jump start, not the black flag, that was for not taking the penalty. A ride through does not have to ruin the whole race for a rider as demonstrated at Laguna - if JT had riden through and still finished last he would have still been awarded points because so many other riders had fallen or retired (and the grid is so small these days).

To all the others who are making judgements: YOU get out there and ride even the slowest of the MotoGP bikes and then make your comments. You drive/ride down the same roads every day, can you tell me what the 32nd sign post on the right says?

In my opinion JT should be replaced with Leon Haslam, look what he has done on the stiggy honda! They could do a straight swap, JT back to superbikes, where is one of the best, and Haslam to motogp, where i think he would shine

James, the only time its ok to jump a light is when you are delivering a pizza-are you trying to drop us a hint as to what you'll be doing next year instead of GP? cos Tech 3 must be going shopping for a new rider soon and with American Sponsorship you dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out who that will be!!!

Leon Haslam, are you having a laugh? LH is better off staying in WSB, when he starts winning then put up posts about him moving to MotoGP. I hope JT stays in MotoGP next year but it is looking unlikely with his current form.

James Toseland will be riding for the Tech3 team in MotoGP in 2010. Unlike his team mate 'Texas Limp Wrist' who will probably be relegated to AMA status and a lifetime of obesity eating cheeseburger meal deals.

Incidentally, James still has the same number of GP wins as his team-mate, even though it has taken him a full 5 seasons less to achieve this. :) :) :)

A jump start can be moving the bike a fraction of an inch over a sensor without knowing it,it was bad luck. With regard to the flags and ride through, even the BBC commentators said the flags were in a position which were difficult to see, just a bad end to a bad weekend.Toseland's career finished in Moto GP ? WHY ? He's the 11th best rider in the world at the moment with a good chance of finishing inside the top 10 before seasons end,he's 37 points behind his much more experinced team mate who's in 5th,17 points behind Capirossi who has 20 yrs more GP experience.Ever thought Tech 3 may be a sh1te team? They totally b*llsed up the settings on Toseland's bike this weekend. How close it CE 2 a win

Haslam may not have won (yet), but he has managed a couple of podiums on a bike that nobody thought would be anywhere and run by a team that are in their first year of WSBK. I personally do not like haslam, I've always thought him and arrogant little xxxxx, but he can ride a bike

Sir Yank Spankington

You can have a go at Colin all you want but that doesn't hide the fact that he has almost twice as many points as JT. So if having a dig at Colin isn't going to make JT any faster than you're just wasting your time........

And if you wanna get into wins and the like, Colin has just as many wins as every other British rider in the last 28 years. Would you like fries with that burger Sir Yanky Jerk Off?
