MOTOGP » Toseland black flag for missing 'harsh' penalty

James Toseland had a day to forget at Laguna Seca on Sunday, being black flagged on lap 11 after failing to serve a ride-through penalty for jumping the start.

"Axis got it right -superbikers don't have the experience to setup the bike

Both of you clowns are wrong. Superbikes have very little in common with their road going brothers. They are pretty much adjustable from top to bottom and front to back.

The difference is in style of riding. 800s just require a different style. No one was saying "superbike guys don't have experience to set up the bike" when they where kicking everyone's a55 on the 500s. The 800s with the current electronics and tires just require a front end type style more so than a 500 stroker or 990. Colin was a 250cc AMA champion so he had something to revert to where as JT and Nicky are having to learn it on the fly.

I can see there are been many excuses made for Tossland and I think this weekend pretty much summed up Tossland and his attitude.

I remember all the rubbish posted by Toseland and his fans as he said he would only accept a ride in a team that could deliver him a bike, that was up there and could be in with a chance of winning. Well the Yamaha is the best bike in the field without a doubt and while I agree it is not to the same standard at the 2 Fiat Machines, it should be battling for a top 5 most races. For gods sake Toseland even had the heads at Yamaha trying to help him, but his arrogant ways and know it all attitude are still shining through.

AMA seat at best for mind.

poor ol' JT's season went pear shaped in the preseason. Not with the crew chief garbage but with the sapping of his confidence. After he high sided a couple of times even he admitted that his confidence was low and that really hurt his time on the bike. JT really needed the preseason to adjust to the tires and the like and he just didn't get it. At this level of racing, ones confidence can't be a question. Guys like Schwantz and Doohan rolled out of hospital beds and raced. Look at this year. Hayden took a flight at Qatar and raced the next day and set his fastest lap at the end. Pedrosa crashes weekly and still races to the fullest. Stoner and Lorezo crashes heavily in Q this weekend con't

and still finished 3rd and 4th. Look at Haga at Miller. He throws himself over the bars yet scraps himself off the ground and went full speed. JT just took to long to get up to speed after the crashes. The time he took recovering from those accidents just took too long at this level. You have to be able to just get up and forget about it - he admitted more than a month afterward that his confidence wasn't back. That's just too long. With the new rules restricting testing this year, every session is crucial. JT just got behind and has never really caught up.

The new rules limiting testing is a curse to riders struggling. Once you get behind it's very difficult to catch up.

Seems that everyone misses the real real reason why Kid JT didnt pit.

He just wanted to avoid the humiliation of a dismal finish again!

Don't worry Tossy it is soon over, we know you wanted to play with the big boys, some ppl listened to your BS and put you there. Next time be a bit more humble and read the rules before you sign up.

bye bye :)

No comment on the prior pages, but...

You know at the start of the season I thought it would be a straight American for American swap come the end of the year (Spies for Edwards) at Yamaha given Colin's age against the youth of Toseland. But seriously, if James keeps these results going in to the second half of Moto GP and doesn't catch up to Colin. JT can wave to Spies as they swap rides for 2010.

JT will turn it around and he will have at least 3 top 5 finishes before the end of the season, mark my words. Anyone who knows JT away from the track will tell you that no way is he arrogant or conceited in fact he his one of the most genuine, down to earth guys you could ever meet.
RawDork, with your 1000 plus posts per day, think you know everything about everything, attacking anyone who dares to have a difference of opinion. Yep! your a real tough keyboard warrior! Your attitude sucks and it's about time you realised there's more to life besides working part-time at MaccyD's and trolling on here! :) :) :)
