Lorenzo is currently in the same position as Criville riding next to Doohan.
He can use the bike developed by Rossi, check his setup and make the best of it.
If he goes to Honda he would have to pull the cart and that is a different ballgame.

I don't know if Bautista could go to a Honda Telefonica bike - would it be a "factory" bike? if so, a rookie can't ride it. Honda pretty much gets what they want from DORNA, so they could probably get away with calling it a satellite. I hope Jorge stays at Yamaha- his being on a Honda it might be interesting, but it would take a year or two to develop HIS bike. What if Rossi retires by then - JLo's legend would be "the guy who never beat Rossi for the title". Stay at Yamaha George - its your best chance to beat Rossi. (From a Rossi fan)

Heres the scenario I see. Lorenzo Stays Put and makes a lot more money! Spies signs with Suzuki with Kevin Schwantz taking over the team and Houseworth as his crewchief. First race of 2010 Spies stuffs it under Rossi in Qatar and leaves em all for dead, then goes on to win the championship amassing an all time record of wins and points for a single season. Rossi retires and signs to race for Ferrari in F1 and Spies becomes the 3rd and final American to take the title away from Rossi! Then he and Lorenzo go on a world wide poontang hunt to celebrate. :)

Interesting to see how many new "fans" lorenzo has. Perhaps there all ex stoner "fans". Regardless they all seem to think he won't stand a chance at honda, very interesting :)

wooo weee??? I hope lorenzo does the smart thing and stays with yamaha and doesn't commit the same mistake alonso did by leaving the #1 renault for mclaren. If he wants to become a legend, then he needs to beat rossi on his bike. Other wise he will be regarded as a paper champion by winning on a better machine as honda seems to arrogantly proclaim. Be careful though as yamaha has options too, they have the goat that could sign for a couple more years and possibly another successor in their back pocket by the name of "Ben Spies". Dont worry lorenzo, rossi will retire in 21 more wins but you can always make it difficult for him..

I think the Honda is one of the best two bikes out there, possibly even the best. Honda needs to ditch Pedrosa -- give him factory equip at JiR Scot or something and let them wrestle with Puig. My guess below --

Repsol HRC -- Lorenzo and Dovi
Gresini -- Marco M and Marco S
LCR -- DePuniet or Pedrosa on factory bike
Scot -- Pedrosa on factory bike, or DePuniet
Fiat Yamaha -- Rossi and Capirossi or DeAngelis
Tech 3 Yamaha -- Edwards or Hayden and Spies
Suzuki -- Vermuelen and Hopkins (english speaking a benefit) or Capirossi
Ducati Marlboro -- Stoner and Hayden or Kalio
Pramac -- Kalio or Bautista and DeAngelis or Hopkins

Then Champ in 2010 is Lorenzo

Right-O Morgue, I am dreaming. But if Lorenzo moves, there will be a big shake-up. I can't see him going to anybody but HRC if he goes away from Yamaha, and I can't see Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the same team. I do believe the Honda is a lot better bike than some credit. It's quite fast (not down on power) and a good handler, perhaps on par with Yamaha. I'd sure like to see how it goes in Rossi's hands. I bed he'd be faster on it.
