Very diplomatic on Lorenzo's part especially with the question on switching teams but understandable to keep his options open. They should have asked him what parts does he think Rossi's bike has that his doesn't. Can't see it being significant as most times his bike appears faster than Rossi's. Switching to Honda would probably be a mistake but the Honda doesn't look too bad lately and it would make next season even more interesting.

I'm a big Rossi fan and I almost always think that Jorge plays it as much down as he can, to keep himself a bit as the underdog. I know he is extremely talented and won't be tricked by Rossi everytime. He could well get his first title this season, Rossi is at his best at the moment but he does make mistakes too, and with someone like Jorge around there is no time for those....

Yamaha make me sick especially that little twerb furasawa .Pay jorge that little extra he deserves and keep him at Yamaha forever. Little man is a great rider and will definetely be world champion in the future.I cant beleive yamaha and their crap with this guy pay the million or two and hold this champion rider dont let him slip to honda preserve your future through the young riders. Now they talk about Edwards being Rossis teamate this is sick and Furasawa should be condemned forever...jorge is the best and i would sacrifice a million edwards and toselands for his services it wouldnt even be a issue.Yamaha have the greatest two riders in the world and now their ****ing around .

Someone else said it earlier, hes really in it for the cash, which i find a bit dissapointing. I honestly think yamaha has a more philosophical look at these things, Is the next rossi worth the pain in the a** he appears to be. The money WILL come to him i just dont like that in the interview it seemed all he cared about. HOW MUCH yamaha wants me? disrespectful i think

Whatever Rossi has that Lorenzo doesn't, it doesn't seem to make much difference judging by Sachsenring.

Mind you, if you were going to give development parts to any rider, to give them to Rossi would be a no brainer. You can only produce a certain number of updates at a time. He has proved he can get the job done, countless times.

Rossi is winning races, leading the championship and develping a championship winning bike that anyone can ride... JL is riding it... very well but that's it. We mculd be witnesing his major flaw first hand.. It appears his ego is writing cheques his talent(at the moment) can't cash. I like JL but Rossi is better and more rounded. Everyone talks like JL is a rookie, but he is a doule world champ and will be well on his way racecraft wise.... Don't think he'll ever beat Rossi.. As Rossi said he's had to relearn to ride like 250's and he will get better also...

Lorenzo raises a cash issue not because he wants to be richer but because the money he gets represents the respect and appreciation the factory shows towards his effort and results.

Judging by his results up to now this season, i.e. giving Valentino a real run for his money (literally :)) and being really close to him on points, it does seem a bit unfair of Valentino to be upwards of 10M while he gets around one third of that or even less. So he feels treated unfairly and that's where the problem starts.

There can be only one World Champ and it looks like for the next few years Yamaha believes that's Vale. If Jorge goes to Honda I really think the 1st year he will not contend for the title. He will spend it learning and developing the bike. Also Rossi says he's interested in staying around for a few more years and if Jorge goes to Honda it will light the fire in him to try to crush Jorge(like he did to honda).

As for the future it looks like Yamaha thinks it might be Spies. Even if they are wrong in 2 years they can still resign Lorenzo when Rossi retires. I say the smart thing to do is let him go.

"It is only some pieces that Valentino still has that I don't have."

That means "I know I am the number 2 rider and don't want to be..."

Good luck to Jorge this weekend and his future. Yes, he would be better sticking with Yamaha, but you know his (or any talented front-runners) ego does not want to play second fiddle to Rossi for (potentially) the next few years...

I like the guy, will be seeing him tomorrow at Donigton's Day Of Chapions... plus this year I got a paddock / pit lane pass! Yey!
