Give Hiroshi Aoyama a factory Honda in a satellite team. He's ridden better than Simoncelli this year and deserves at least equal machinery. Surely the high-ups at Honda would like a Japanese Honda rider to do well.

MOTOGP » 14 MotoGP seats up for grabs?

As far as can be determined, only three riders look to have a 2010 MotoGP contract already in place.

Might only be 3 contracts in place but I think it's more cut and dried than it seems. With the Gresini line up in place, that leaves 1 spot at Suzuki up for grabs, 1 spot at Pramac, and 1 at Tech 3. Can't see many more seats than those being disputed.

If Lorenzo goes to Honda than all bets are off and I think you'll see alot of riders changing seats.

Pedrosa's seat at Honda being "safe" or not does not depend on Lorenzo's decision, since it's been pointed out several times already that Lorenzo's way to Honda would not directly be with the Repsol team, i.e. "Dani's seat", but with an extra sponsor in an extra team. Lorenzo's decision would influence Pedrosa's choice more in the way of whether or not there's a free factory Yamaha to take.

Also, it is a great shame that with Talmacsi apparently being closely tied with Scot Honda already, Aoyama has very few chances to move up with Honda next year. That boy surely would deserve it with what he's shown already this year, but I guess he just doesn't bring enough money with him.

And here I thought MotoGP was finally calling it quits and just joining WSBK!

I'd be pretty damned certain that Casey is staying with Ducati, they can't afford to lose him, unless Honda takes him. If I were Honda, I would DOUBLE whatever Ducati was paying him, just to get him off the Duc. That would only leave Yamaha as their threat.

Seriously though, MotoGP is in trouble.

Aoyama WILL be in GP next year the scot team MAY not be there but Honda are supplying 2 more Honda's next year and Suter will (dependant on an anouncment in September) with a new bike so there will 4 more seats from this.

Telefonica are rumoured to be the sponser for Aspar but they may be a sponser for one of the other Honda's (of which is most likely destined for Aoyama). The Telefonica/Honda deal has either Dani/Jorge or Bautista's name on it. And if Bautista does not take the Duke De-bon or Elias will have it (de-bon brings sponser/cash so most likely over elias). We could see 20-21 bikes next year??? here is hoping!!

Hayden and Capirossi probably will announce their resignings shortly. Edwards though is looking a likely casualty of Ben Spies' switch to MotoGP. Aprilia WSB for him maybe?
