Ducati are completely bonkers if they try to sign Lorenzo instead of Rossi. I don't care what it costs them, just sign the man and be done with it! A true italian champion on italian machinery, it will be perfection! They know they can never have anyone as good as him, so why settle for an also ran?

@borgo panigale

What a lot of cobblers.

He'll see his days out at Yamaha, why not, he's built a great team round him. Why go to Ducati and have to listen to Stoners tantrums.

He'll be off rallying after a two or three more years

Taz, that's the thing, Stoner won't be coming back, that's why Ducati is in the market for a new figurehead.

Look, Stoner was a great rider and all, but I don't think he has was it takes to keep himself at the top flight on equal conditions with everyone else. He is kind of a one hit wonder, 2007 was as good as it gets, he's been coming downhil ever since, and he knows he can never go back there.

That's why Rossi on a Ducati would be every italian's wet dream. Strike that, every race fan's dream. It would be legend. Yes, he has a good team at Yamaha, the best in fact. But Rossi has never been one to shun a good challenge, in fact that's why he left Honda. I say, go to Ducati!

Not that i think he'd leave, but he did leave the mighty Honda where he was unbeatable.

I think Rossi and Yamaha have a special relationship, something a lot closer than he had with Honda, he treats the Yam, like it's his own.

The Honda, yeah he had a lot of input, but when Rossi won on a Honda, it was cause of them, which just goes to show...Honda wins since Rossi left and Yam wins since Rossi joined.

I'd rather Rossi stay with Yam till he retires and i really hope he does, because i think they can still go from strength to strength...which will keep Rossi in MotoGP for as long as possible hopefully.

"But Rossi has never been one to shun a good challenge, in fact that's why he left Honda"

No it wasn't mate, it's because Honda was treating him like crap. He loves Yamaha, so why would he leave? Read Rossi's autobiography. He has absolutely no interest in joining Ducati, who he feels have a similar philosophy to Honda...

@borgo panigale

Read his books.

He left Honda because he couldn't stand the senior management.

Ho won't be going to Ducati, funniest thing i've heard all day.
