I'm all for team managers supporting their riders, but what a laughable claim this early in his career. What's he got, 4 wins in nearly 2 seasons? He's not even close to the success of Stoner, let alone Rossi. He will without doubt be a huge success in his career, but really, comparisons to Rossi, at this stage?. Settle down Daniele.

At best he'll live up to it in 10 years time. And whats the chance of that? I'm not even a fan of Rossi, but I still recognise his almost unrepeatable legacy.

"So it was not like a real loss, Jorge just got beaten on the last corner."

One of the lamest examples of saying coming in second isn't losing!! Face it! Second place is the FIRST loser.

Out of the last 7 races it is 6-1 to Rossi. Best of the rest at the moment no question but might not even be that if Stoner has grown some nuts in the outback..

Roll on estoril, the Hungariansausagering has a lot to answer for.. Comeback Motogp...

This claim is downright lame.. To compare Jorge to Rossi at this very early stage.. Rossi's Rokie year, he won 2 races, Jorge only won a single race, on Rossi's second year, he won the Championship in a dominant fashion. I think that claim is made by a man who just loves his rider so much.

And besides this claim, I don't think Jorge can do what he did this year on a different bike, ex. on a Honda or Ducati.. He is using the best bike on the grid and possibly Rossi's setup ( in reference to Rossi's Comment ). Maybe that is also the reason why Honda stop persuing Jorge cause he is no good in developing a bike, he is just good in riding a best bike.

ROFL..."Jorge just got beaten on the last corner" is So stupid it is very likely to come back and haunt him for years to come.

Rossi so clearly loves pi$$ing up Jorge's lampost I would not be surprised if he stays on till his buddy Simonicelli is in a position to take over.

:) :) Jorge just got beaten on the last corner :) :)

He needs another 14 wins just to be on the same page as Stoner. He's not as good as Pedrosa either IMO, its just that he's on a very quick bike.

You guys are muppets.

Look at the riders Rossi was up against when he stepped up to the premier class. If he had come in when Doohan was in his prime he would have been bitch-slapped!

What Lorenzo has done, considering the level of competition, has been brilliant. He is bloody quick, and once he begins to ride in a more calculated manner will undoubtedly lift the title.

A very exciting talent.

Biggest rider in history? I used to think it was Biaggi, but then came Rossi. But seriously, we should see Stoner or Pedrosa on Yamaha before we can claim Lorenzo will be the biggest rider in history.

darren, you are a t**l.so tell us o fountain of knowledge, who exactly did doohan beat to win his 5 hard won titles???id consier kenny jr,biaggi, barros, gibernau, lorenzo, pedrosa, etc etc etc alot more competition than basically criville,an emerging roberts,a crocked daryl beattie,a terminally injured schwantz,so dont you dare demean rossis championships n try n put doohan up there with the true greats like rainey, scwhantz and lawson etc who won their championships the hard way against equally talented riders, not a depleted grid on an obviously superior bike developed just for him.

If you say that Jorge is very good in regards to the current competition, maybe it's the other way around.. It is Rossi who is doing the most in the current competition, considering his age and motivation.. I think he is not on the top of his racing carrer but can still manage to beat Stoner, Jorge and Pedrosa.. If you have the Rossi on 03,04 Honda, then there will be no more competition and Rossi will likely to win 12 races per season. On the current Rider generation, except Rossi, Stoner seems to be the best out there without that sickness.
