who the hell comes on with these ideas??? preparing to a new year with so little track time??? with the changed rule on the engines??? seems to me that someone is trying to hard to spoil the sport, you can't develop a prototype just in a computer, you have to try the new ideas, see if it works. stop these nonsense please. let these guys get at least 6 proper test's, let them do their work, that's the reason why we watch them....

First test on Feb 4th, second test 17 days later?

There could be big disparities in engine performance with the long life engines next year,
....why not bring the date of the first test forward to early Jan, that way if there's been a major c*ck up in engine (or chassis) design the factory has time to sort it before the second test.

The way it is at present, the factories who don't get it right, will be using the races in the first half of the year to play catch up (hemorrhaging points as they go)

For new teams, new riders, or riders new to a bike/team, this is nothing short of a disaster.

You cannot perform to the best of your abilities on one of these bike with so little testing time. And if a factory makes the slightest mistake in the design of their bike than their season is over - there isn't enough track time to correct mistakes.

And let's not forget safety. Guys coming up are going to be looking to impress. With so little time on the bike you can't help but wonder how many guys will be making mistakes and only just finding the limits in racing situations.

IIRC testing can be performed at track conditions anytime the manufacturers want. The difference being it cannot be done with the regular season riders on regular season tracks. It seams that DORNA or FIM is limiting the officail testing time.

I may very well be wrong on this however, I am at work and do not have time to research this.
