You can make a skilled racecrafter out of an aggressive rider more easily than you can make an aggressive rider out of a smooth clean fast but timid rider. Now, no rider that tops any class is really timid, but aggressiveness in the face of close competition is perhaps the prime requirement for eventual championship -- the idea that you don't get many chances in top level competition, so you must take action and learn to make chances or recognize them and take advantage immediately. Push, Push, Push. He'll learn to be calm and patient when needed. I think he'll do well in MotoGP. He has the heart for it. I like his riding. For a relatively big guy, he rides low on the bike like Rossi.

cause nobody cares about jamie hacking or his non podium finish or kawasaki. thats why. besides that one pass which wasnt all that bad really, his other overtakes were smooth and on the brakes making it look easy. i enjoy watching that kid race. he doesnt need to win blah blah or superpole blah blah to be compared with spies, he just beat him on a machine that he has barely rode and ben has been riding all year, and the R1 is in the top two bikes on the grid. you guys can hate him because of his hair or aggressive riding or whatever but the kid can ride and he doesnt wait around to make passes.

Ok, I'm calm now.

Thanks for reading and seeing the sense.

Reading these boards you learn that no matter what there's people out there to poo on everything.

Not recognizing the facts regardless of how much of a die hard fan anyone is show delusional some posters are.

I would not waste my time posting crap that facts alone will contradict. I'd rather search for some porno than type a whole page of uninformed crap like some people do.

rossifumi - at least you know you're bias against Hacking and toward Simoncelli and what he did while others think they are fair.

And another thing......

To all the people who keep saying that Simoncelli is coming from a superior or better series:

Since Simoncelli crashed in a race and finished 3rd which some how means his series is better than WSBK than since Ben won his first superpole and won a race his first weekend, bagged 9 superpoles in a row and won half his races mean that the AMA is better as well? It only makes sense by your logic, no? Of course you guys wouldn't admit that. So either your logic is wrong, or the AMA is better as well if you logic is some how right, or you are just bais to GPs and/or Simoncelli.

Which is it?

Simoncelli did not intend to pass Max like that. He's a 250cc rider who got his braking wrong on the heavier sbk. This meant he had to pass or crash. He was lucky to get away with it. He still rode a good race. Before I get accused of being a fanboy, I rate Ben Spies very highly and I'd like to see Hacking should get another chance in wsbk.

I'm not saying either Simoncelli or Hacking was right or wrong. I'm just showing some of these people how they rip one guy and than praise another for the same thing.

This GP vs. SBK is laughable...LOL.

If a Superbike is so inferior to a GP bike why don't the critics build a liter bike of their own and run it next year?

You might beat the 600cc Superstocks or maybe you can run it in the new Harley class in the AMA. LOL.

These bikes aren't even close to what's available at the dealer. Go buy one if you can. There's the suspension, computer and a thousand tricks that we can't touch. If anyone decides to buy let's say an 1198R with all the bits and give to Bayliss or Haga they'll tell you the bike needs further development.
Guess how much that's going to cost? In a few words these bikes are as good as the GPs but heavier and with a real engine on them.

One thing's for sure - Simoncelli has set a pretty steep benchmark for any other Aprilia recruit to try and match. Leon Camier is supposed to be next in line for a guest ride (MotoGPmatters), and he'll find it a very tough proposition to get anywhere near what Sic. did at Imola.
