One practice session does not make a motogp rider, but compared to some of the 'unprovens' that are being brought in, riders like de angelis should really get more time to adapt to the premier class. Riders like bautista are getting rides, but last I checked de angelis finished ahead of him in the championships when they were both in 250s. This makes no sense at all.

The current 250 crop only 'looks' good because the top 3 moved on after 2007. Simoncelli is the only exception (maybe aoyama but I don't know yet) since he had a break out year in 08--as opposed to bautista riding to the same level he always has but in a depleted field.

Dangerous WAS towed around on his fast warm up lap. However I think he's shown a lot of potential and he hasn't been in GP for as long as Elias. Maybe he deserves another shot.
