He may not be the most sensible rider on the grid but he's fast and deserves to be in Moto Gp. How tailgunner Talmacsi is more sure of a seat next year than De Angelis shows you everything that is wrong with the sport.

MOTOGP » de Angelis fourth strengthens Team Scot chances

Alex de Angelis gave his chances of remaining in MotoGP next season a perfectly timed boost by finishing fourth in Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix - as the top satellite Honda rider.

Alex,
You wouldn't have to be so worried if you had given 100% of your contribution to the 80% rider : 20% bike ratio throughout the season.

Great ride but he still had to be bit of a loose cannon. Anyone see his celebration wheelie over the line where he came so close to pit wall he nearly took checkered flag man out. :D

Himself or Elias definately deserve the seat over Talmaci but money talks.

Alex. Great race, he's totally crazy!!!!
Did you see the wheelie over the finish line?
ROTFL

The bike leaned to the left suddnely and he just, and I mean just, missed crashing into the pitlane wall!!!

If the chequered flag dude had been on the track, he'd be squished.

The BBC TV commentators giggled too.
Hell of a ride, 110% effort.

Don't make a judgement on Talmacsi before we see someone else riding the same bike...(I mean not another Honda, but the Honda with this mechanics and backround) Takahashi with a lot more "big bike" experience was not better either..

Alex kicked up tons of dust next to the pit wall because no one has probably ever ridden that close!

This is only his 2nd year and yes he is a bit wild and "dangerous" he has put in some good rides to put him in 7th in the championship.

If I'm not mistaken Doohan was considered to be suicidal by other riders when he came into GP's and they called him "Dead by June Doohan" or something or another his rookie year. Not to say Alex is anywhere near Doohan but sometimes when fast riders are pressuring themselves and trying to impress that they are a bit careless. Kallio this year also comes to mind.

"Despite not scoring points in the last two races we have been on an excellent run of form ...."

DNF Estoril

DNF Misano. Hacked down Edwards & Hayden

4th Phillip Island (barely in control on several occaisions)

If that's excellent his mediocre must be terrifying

great job from Alex, he has been terrifying again.

Don't try to be clever. You are the mediocre & De Angelis 7th in world championnship standings.

You know what means to be the 7th best rider in the world...Not
