Wow, what can you say :)
Valentino keeps rising in the all time ranks, he will probably not reach Ago's total of 15 WC's or his tally of wins but the specialty about him is that he did it in a field full of works bikes and probably the toughest competition around.

Time for a beer! :p

Amazing... When I first saw him in the 125cc, I told my brother, this guy is going to win many races and become 500cc world champion. I just never thought that would turn like this...

I ain't knocking Rossi, he's certainly got his place in Motorcycle raod racing history, and dominant in his era, but Rossi is right to say that Ago is still the Man, he had less races per year to do, so you if you really have to compare the stats per amount of races competed.

Its like scumacher with Jim Clark, Clark won a third of all GP's raced, scumacher won less, Jim had two titles and the scumacher had too many

Interesting facts. As many have said statistically Ago will probably continue to hold the most WCs, but the MV Augusta issue totally undermines his contention for GOAT. Rossi especially this year (where no one can deny that the competition has been fierce, apart from Casey having to have a rest :?) has won through determination, skill and nerve, all hallmarks of a champion. Rather than a bike with twice the hp of its nearest competitor (in one season Ago lapped the entire field in all 13 races that season). Equally most telling is that while Hailwood was on the MV with him Ago did not win a WC on the MV it was not until he went to the Honda team that Ago started winning on the MV

MIKE HAILWOOD will always be the greatest, I would put Phil Read above Ago and rossi as if it had not been for Hailwood he would have wone so much more. I have watched them all race from way back in the 50s, the riders of Hailwoods time had to cope with machinery that often broke down, highly dangerious tracks, one type of tyre and none of the electronics that they have today. They also raced in up to 3 races a day different capacity and every weekend so stop crowing about todays racers, you really don't know what you missed. :p

What I love is that someone disagreed with Bob, what you disagree with what they are going to do, or that it will occur hahhahahaha. To some extent I agree Ron but I feel that periods can be compared, and I think Rossi and Hailwood the rest are all great but the greatest?
