It would be great for Tech 3 if their MotoGP riders sorted the Moto2 bike for them. But of course the riders and their managers would be asking for more money as this task probably isn't in their contracts!

Add to what raw said the very real possibility of sustaining an injury and it's just not worth risking the top level guys on Moto2 bikes. And they already have enough to do sorting their own bikes, fulfilling sponsorship commitments, personal life, etc.

Yes good point about the injury possibility for the MotoGP guys testing in Moto2, however, if the testing is done immediately after the last GP then most injuries have time to recover.

In the mid 90's Suzuki suspected their 250's were better than the riders were saying, so at one of the tests they put Shwantz and Beattie on them and they lapped 1.5 seconds faster than their 250 riders!

Problem is I can't see JL or VR (or any of the MotoGP guys) testing a Moto 2 bike unless it is connected with one of their big sponsers, why would they?

Why on earth would Ben Spies ride a 250?

100kg, 100bhp 2 stroke, skinny tyres, now (sadly) obsolete

or

220bhp 160kg 4 stroke with modern electronics package...

Which is closer to a Moto GP bike? Hmm...
