I think he will get a podium or two.
But he won't be anywhere near as good as most people are making out!
I'm sure he will be better than Tossland (and I'm a brit), and he will be fighting with Colin for that 5th spot!!!
Time will tell...

The lad is being coy as it will surprise me if he's not fighting for a step on the podium every week. Lets not forget the season he just had on circuits he'd never seen before, good grief!

if you see the effort he puts in his training you wouldn't doubt he might have a chance at a podium next yr. He has both packages that every athlete needs to have to be successful, mentally and physically strong. This kid ain't scared motogp and he definitely wont slack off.

Go Ben! All in all 6 championships and only 25. Amazing!

Ben Spies' humility is just as authentic as is his fierce competitiveness. A good pairing of qualities for a racer with his level of talent. He'll almost certainly podium with Tech 3, but I dunno if he'll win without the top factory package. He's the real deal, make no mistake. But he's not the only real deal in MotoGP. He's going up against at least four aliens who don't give away podiums and wins without a real rough fight.

Good sensible comments from Spies. He knows what bike he is on next year and is setting his expectations accordingly. Strong chance of podiums in the wet for sure, doubt it in the dry though due to the tech3 package. Just got to make sure he beats his team mate. If Edwards creams him it may put the breaks on a factory ride for 2011, which after all, is where he needs to be.

Personally I think he's right, but some podiums might come in the second year if a couple of the aliens are having problems.

Get near Edwards in year one and beat Edwards in year two sounds possible.

Hopefully he keeps making progress and gets long enough in MotoGP to adapt - if he doesn't make the grade he can allways drop back to WSB and clean up / win multiple titles.

It has been a privilege to watch him in WSB this year.

Playing mind games already Ben. Just remeber this guy made three Suzuki appereances last year Donington 14 Laguna Seca 8 and Indianapolis 6. I think this guy will storm MGP just as Lorenzo did last year before he started falling every other day.

The bridgestones played a big part in that. ONly Rossi was doing anything with the dreadful michelins tyres. Hope Ben has a great future in GP but things will be different with everyone on bridgystones..
