Did everyone see the interview where Rossi said Yamaha had to choose between him and jorge for 2011 or Ducati would come calling. Think this will happen regardless. Lorenzo will win MotoGp next year. Spies will have his satelite year done and dusted. Rossi off to Ducati 2011 and Spies will replace him in the factory team. Can ducati keep stoner and rossi happy in the same team?.......noone developes a bike like rossi.......bye bye stoner.

Way to go Crash, qualifying day is just finished and you knock the Stoner-on-pole story off top billing in favour of a dry-as-dust piece about Yamaha technical guff. Not hard to see your allegiances! This would have been a good piece to run next Monday or Tuesday, but why today??

Anyway. Some interesting stuff in there - impressive what they've done with the Yam's performance. 'Part-throttle engine performance' sounds like code for traction control to me!

Now with this nice article, I just ask one thing. What's with the fuc.ked up setups of the past few months? Rossi is today again 5 tenths slower, than Stoner. He has no chance of winning.

Personally I like technical articles, as the sport we love is becoming more technical and the days have gone where a "bloody good rider" on a mediocre bike could win a gp . Interesting that rules introduced to cut cost just result in development money being used elsewhere (Engine longevity).

me too john there should be more of this although I get the feeling not to many other manufacturers would be as candid. Who really cares about todays pole. It's like watching matches after the seasons already been decided. The real funs been had and it's more of an end of season distraction. To be honest for me this weekend is more about seeing Spies and next weeks testing of new longlife bikes.

On a different subject, I agree with you "JohnKibb". I find the articles with inside information, wheather it is technical, stratigic or comments from riders very interesting. Its just a drag when a good "insider" article comes out, and then the brainless children clutter the comment logs with useless bickering.

This is great stuff. The combination of Rossi Burgess and Yamaha have proven to be the most Successful venture in GP. I'm proud I'm on my fourth Yamaha since 83' and believe there is no better overall mfg, just a few equals. Just can't wait to see the race engineering trickle down more to us buyers (as in R1 already) for more of their machines ala maybe an FJR1300'S' model with crossplane design, please? I'm too big for the litre bikes. Build a big Sport bike like BMW does for us man sized guys please!

Why does Yamaha give out this information every year for rivals to see?

Because they can and because they know that Honda still can't get it together to beat them even when Yamaha tell the world the reasons behind the design of their winning bikes!!
Old Soichiro must be turning in his grave, bless him and all he achieved in his lifetime!!

honda displayed it's rc211v 5 cylinder engine in pieces for all to see after the 2006 season. yamaha aren't revealing much here. call me when they dismantle the m1 engine and display it for rival eyes.
