No offense to Rossi, but if I were Yamaha, i'd be looking to keep Jorge. Don't get me wrong, Rossi is superb, but he can't be at the top forever.

Ladies and gentlemen place your bets now on Ben Spies being Vale's team mate in 2011.

One of the 2011 Tech 3 rides is provisionally allocated to Cal Crutchlow anyway, (contingent on a top 3 WSBK finish for him) so it's likely Ben will make the move up to the factory team if he performs as we all think he will. He'll also prove to Yamaha that they don't need Jorge (who will be welcomed at either Ducati or Honda).

is MotoGP becomes more like F1, where rider's power is so prevalent he can decide who will become his team mate?

no offense but in the garage it's the manager who runs the show, not the riders. the riders' show is on the track and Fiat Yamaha is not a one-man show.

So Rossi is human after all - doesn't like fast team mates! If he has responsibility for development, surely that is in his favour. (Team =mates used to complain that Doohan made the NSR to suit himself only)
