Who was the old japanese fellow who congratulated Hiro after the race? He seemed very enthusiastic. TV showed it a few times.

Yeah pleased he won. For a moment or two i thought Simoncelli was going to aggressively OT, then let him past, aggressively OT, then let him past. So many people end in off track excursions when the plonker Simoncelli OT...even for his guest appearance on the Aprillia in WSBK. I really dislike the guy. Hiros big mistake might just have saved his bacon from the underhand doings of Simoncelli.

bri t very much agree it was so great Aoyama won and in many ways is mistake kept him safe from the devious Simoncelli who I also dislike because of his dirty riding style!!

Yeah, I agree. The first few laps were very spooky. Whether they got together and made a decision to try and knock him off, or just all decided to play rough and see what happened, I don't know. I did count at least three (looked to me) deliberate attempts to take him out. Congrats on the championship anyway. Well deserved and very popular.

As for turning all the electronics off - very good idea. First, learn the machine - even if you can't really go fast on it like that. Then, start to get your head around the electronics. Otherwise, you are going to be feeling things and not know if it's the chassis or the traction control. Very sensible.

Congrats to Hiroshi, a nice fellow as well and glad he won it. Im sure there was much Saki consumed by him and his ninga posse. Oops, I better be more racially sensitive or I might be called a racist.

poorshanutt, nothing to worry about because "ninga" is not even word, think you meant "ninja" :p

"Otherwise, you are going to be feeling things and not know if it's the chassis or the traction control."

er, I'm not sure you know how the electronics work. First off the bike either handles or it doesn't - the electronics don't control the suspension. It's either going to be stable on the brakes or it's not and it's either going to be stable in the turns or not. The electronics and anti wheelie help smooth the power output on acceleration but you still have to have the rear shock sorted.

I've read riders say it's a different way on using the throttle with the electronics. So he will still have to learn to have faith in the system and get on the throttle sooner than he is used to.
