Great result. Unexpected for sure, but good to see him ahead of boofhead Simoncello and Bautitsta. I like this little bloke, full of determination, but not over the top with the 8u115h1t that seems to be part and parcel of 90percent of these euro drongos these days.

Congrats Hector and good luck to all the rookies for next year!

I don't care who wins as long as we get some great racing and as I don't know any of the racers personally I can't dislike any of them - they are all heros to me providing the racing fix my mind craves. Just wish the winter break wasn't so long - can't wait for the season to start again in all bike categories.

Hector's a quality rider and is my little tip to do better than expected next year - in lorenzo's biography he says barbera is every bit as talented as him or dani pedrosa but has never had the determination - maybe he's found it now...??

The Wildman cometh!

If this time last year someone would have said Hector would finish 2nd in 250s they would look at you like your crazy. He was a pleaseant surprise this year. He's lost a bit of his wildness but it was a good thing.

I'm sure he will add some "excitment" to MotoGP next year - it maybe in the form of some crashes, taking others out, some fairing and elbow bangin', tire rubbing, hard passes, or the like - but it will be exciting!

Hector doesn't give an inch so MotoGP may fit him good.
