I do not know what the rule is. But it would seem crazy if they count testing failures or crash's against the alloted 6 engines.

But this is Dorna we are talking about.

Jeezzz, I hope not.

If he or another rider blows up all 6 engines before the season is over, is he not allowed to race? Or can teams rebuild their engines?

Yeah I have been trying to google the rule changes and really have not been able to find anything.

I seems someone on here said that if they go past the 6th engine they get docked 10 points.

Which does not seem all that much. But I really have no idea.

Can anybody lead us to something about the new engine rule ?

No testing is excempt from any engine rules (They can use as many as they like).

Also if they break the "6" engines within the year then wherever they add the new engine they will be placed at the back of the grid for THAT races (And that Race Only), also the Constructer deduc 10 points. So in theory if they qualify Pole and they add the 7th engine they will start 17th, but at the next race where they qualify they will start the penalty only stands for the Round the added it not going forward.

Might be a great race if say all 4 were fighting for the title and one of them was put at the back and had to fight all the way through the pack to the front, THAT would be fun to watch!!

Well if the motor did get trashed and the frame is toast maybe, just maybe Marco will understand how important it is to keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.

You gotta give him props for one thing. Going out on a slick track. I think that is why some of the other riders did not get many laps in Friday practice.

Especially the rookies.

Glad to hear Marco will not be down to 5 engines before the season has started. With Dorna and the FIM you really never know.

:)
