I do like Melandri but if he doesnt do anything this year he needs to move on. He's taking up a seat and its starting to look like he's riding for his pension.

Known in the industry as "doing a Barros".

Marco is a good rider, he was awesome in 2006 on a sattelite machine but had a hard time in RC212v and the Ducati. I hope he do good this year cause he might be the Next Repsol Honda Rider if Dovi or Dani leave the team.

Every rider is saying the same thing. What else can they say to the journo's until after the first race?
Marco is one hell of a racer. I reckon the 800 Honda and especially his miserable sojourn at Ducati knocked his confidence. A less 'Dani' focused bike, a few progressions, confidence back. Yeah, all the best Marco.

Marco is a bit of a mystery.

On his day he's brilliant but at times he's no where.

After he won the 250 title and moved up to the factory Yamaha team he totally bombed. He finished 15th and was beated soundly by satellite Yamaha boys Nakano and Jacque. The 2nd year he was moved to Tech 3 and finished 12th. Not surprising he was fired from Yamaha.

The satellite RCV211 fitted like a shoe though. He was blazing fast on it. Even did well the first year of the 800cc bike.

But he went to Ducati and it all went to pieces. I hate to say he quit but it wasn't pretty.

He did a stand up job on the Hayate last year. I think it'll be interesting to see what he does back on a Honda.

Melandri is a superb & proven rider...

but so are a lot of the other guys, so many ex-champs in motogp...

he'll need to dig deep this year & make sure he beats his team mate & the tech3 guys to be taken seriously...

i think he could have some great races & find his way to repsol honda for 2011, but he could equally not have the great races & find his way to WSB...
