Much as I believe Bolt is the outstanding sportsman of this year (and will probably be nearly every year until he retires), he won last year, and Federer has won before. Like him or not, Rossi deserves to be recognised for this award one year.

Considering his achievements over his career, he certainly deserves it more than Button!

This nomination puts motogp and motorcycle racing right alongside the top sportsman and sports in the world! Thats where it should be, alongside the greatest sportsmen and sports in the world! Well done Rossi, you are what this sport needs to raise us above second class citizens (in the UK) On a personal note, I have been watching Stoner since he came to Britain in 2000 in the MRO Aprillia 125 champ (I was racing out of the same paddock) and one thing he is not is an asshole, he is typically Antipodean, very job like, gets the job done, but has always ridden the way he does on the duke, fully committed but lacking finess at the very limit. Stoner etc push Rossi to be who he is.

Gee,it appears that Casey Stoner seems to be the cause of much irritation and mental anguish amongst the fanatical supporters of a couple of the other Moto GP ridres... You really should seek help if this young talented rider has got into your heads so bad, and causing you so much angst that you have to try and be-little him on a thread about another rider

I cut n pasted this from that thread about Loreno's injury. But i think this guy sums it up pretty well !!
