I don't think he's going to set the world on fire this year, but as the season progresses he'll be one of the stronger rookies and surprise a few established riders.

In a year or so i do think he'll be very competitive - arguably it's better to learn motogp quietly and get on with the job rather than having to live your life in the "he's gonna be the next great thing" spotlight.

Stoner used to throw his LCR honda down the track every second race and did the same or near to it in the 250cc. He was a 3rd (I think) choice for the Ducati and his father had to convince them to turn the electronics off so he could test it properly. He then won the WC. He was virtually unknown until he was given decent gear and then he did the job.

Prior to that he was a great crash to watch.

Since he's Honda's only Japanese rider he should get some attention from the factory, and be given a little patience to learn the bike. He did a great job last year. He'll be lucky to finish top 10 this year, but he could have a factory ride come 2011, 2012- then look out!

Good luck Hiro.

After the great job you did last year, we all wish you the best of luck for this year.
Given some time and learning/understanding, who's to say he's not a decent top 10 finisher.
