I can feel the sincerity on lorenzo, although he will really benefit with rossi on the sideline, he doesn't want to be champion without really defeating rossi on the racetrack..

I'm sure to stir up a hornets nest with the Rossi 'luvvies' but surely far too much is being made of all this?
So he has broken his leg. Hardly the first rider to do so. Lorenzo rode with two broken ankles. DePuniet rode with a broken knee etc etc. James Ellison did it recently. Goes with the territory.
Rossi will get it rodded and plated today, will have the very best of medical care, and be back riding in 6 or 7 weeks. For sure he will miss a few races and Lorenzo can capitalise on this, but equally he could have some bad luck too. Rossi is not yet out of the title hunt. and if Lorenzo wins the championship this year, it is no more diminished than when Rossi won last year.

The only reason Lorenzo is sad is that no matter what happens he cant win in the eyes of the fans or his own mind this year.

If Rossi can not return this season and Lorenzo wins the WC everyone knows it will be a hollow victory because it wont be that Lorenzo won it honestly it will be that he had no credible competition

If Rossi can return and Lorenzo wins the WC everyone will say he only won it because Rossi was out with the injury for a while and could not give him a challenge.

Nobody can call themselves a true champion unless they won it fair and square, being as good as handed it on a plate because of injury to the competition isnt winning
