Funn- I'm not nieve. I didn't say move the Tech Squad. I said you should use anyone from the Tech squad (riders- either of them). In this case you need an outsider soming in to fill these shoes. Furthermore, Spies will only race with his mechanics. They will floow him to Fiat when the time comes. Jeremy may be the best tech-man out there, but he's Rossi's not Ben's. They will not offer the ride to Tech 3 riders. I wouldn't if I were the team manager. After 30yrs of watching all roadracing I can armchair with the best. This gig will go to someone that will not EVER play a role in a chamionship. The trade-off is that he must be able to ride. So, that said- JT would be a reasonable choice.

Funstuff....Tech3 riders don't need to be on Bikes from Fiat Yamaha to have identical bikes. The bikes are probably 60 or 70 percent alike. The difference is where the Factory gets the best parts or electronics that enables them to beat the Satellite Team. How would it look if the Factory team gets beaten by the Satellite team.

Towards the end of the season you could possible see both teams running bikes almost similar bikes. At that time also the 2011 testing would be well on the way for the factory team. Maybe even riding the 2011 in the final races of 2010 season.

Ben Spies will at some time this year be riding a factory bike under Tech 3 colors.

"He's a warm butt that won't break too many things while filling in."

Please get a clue. This is a contract year for all 4 of the top riders and you think Vale's seat is a warm butt. I hope that is some type of play on naivety. This is an opportunity to see what the next in line can do without any cost to the team. Ben has to be on that ride or the whole sport looks stupid.

Diesel you maybe on to something with the Tech3 ride. If they move Edwards to Vale's bike then they could have a different rider at each venue on the Tech3 bike. When in England pick an English rider, in the USA pick a US rider, etc... But I don't think that JT would be good beyond the UK race. Nice guy and all but he had his chance. Crutchlow as a one off for the UK would make more sense on the Tech3 as he's a potential future GP candidate.

Sorry for my typos. Covert typing at work is harder than you'd think. Point is that Tech 3 may not be a Corse bike, but none of the customer bikes are Corse bikes. Platform-wise, Tech 3 has everything they need but luck. You guys can keep your silly conspiracies about the bikes being different, but in the real world no manufacturer wants to build different motors for different teams. The cost is not worth it. The power differences at best are 5-8hp between Corse and customer. That's about 10-15kmp top speed- right? But didn't Spies run a practice day that held the top speed for the day recently? How's that possible with their weak motors.
They need to call Jamie Hacking to fill in.

Absolutely not! I usually like your post Dray as we see eye to eye on most things. But Ben will be wearing the red, white, and blue when he steps onto the factory Fiat Yamaha M1!
