In the absence of Valentino who else could stir up the championship in the same manner other than SPIES. It would behoove DORNA to keep the high level of attention towards MotoGP. Go for it Yamaha!

What is is that you people don't understand about the Rookie rule. The 9 races is PRIOR to being nominated by a team. After that they have to finish an entire season. For the love of god .... no one can be so thick to not understand.

For example, fast forward to 2011...If James Toseland somehow came back to a Motogp team....He can never be a rookie because he completed more than 9 events in Motogp and he can go to a Satellite Team or immediately to a Factory team.

You simply cant count 9 races and declare all new Motogp riders seasoned riders. Their obligations as rookie is for the entire season.

It will NOT be test riders ("too slow")

It will NOT be Spies ("contractual" reasons)

Yep read the same on Reuters. Brivio has ruled out testers and Spies. Gotta be Edwards to the works outfit then?

Edwards to Fiat. Are you kidding me. That want happen unless MotoGP is clueless. What could be less entertaining than Edwards on the factory bike. I would rather see Toseland embarass himself.

And as for Mat Mladin - you American fanbois just crack me up...

Isn't it funny that Mat Mladin is from the Land Down Under and no the US? Maybe you need to get your facts straigt before you start bashing people. Yes, he raced in the AMA for several years and he's got a following, but he's Austrailian, not from the US. The person who said it could be from somewhere other than the US. I'm going to guess you're probably British trying to bash the US because it brings good fun for you.

The only thing the FIM,Dorna,Fiat and followers of this sport should give a damn about right now,is that there are at least 17 game and able riders on 17 GP bikes on the grid at Silverstone.
Personally,I could'nt care less about who sits on the other Fiat or Tech3 bike as long as those seats are full on the start line.
Rationale would waive the rules and put Spies on the Fiat bike.
