MotoGP » Pernat: Lorenzo needs to change mentality now

Valentino Rossi's former manager Carlo Pernat suggests Lorenzo's new found status as the clear favourite, rather than the chaser, will bring challenges.

This made me laugh. Pernat another Rossi supporter still clinging to the Laguna Seca battle of 2008 -- like it is still on Stoners mind, dream on mate. The thing on Stoners mind atm would most likely be getting his crap GP10 to be a competitive bike, instead of the dud it currently is.

Totally agree mate, also Pernat says that Lorenzo had'nt managed to beat Rossi prior to Mugello? Were Jerez & Le Mans figments of my imagination? Maybe the idea that Jorge was so fixated on beating Rossi that now that he has accomplised that he will struggle to refocus has a modicum of credability but imho Lorenzo will now push on & he won't be the 1st or last champion to "play the percentages"

What rubbish.. Stoner probably barely recalls the Laguna race. Compounded by the fact he ended last years Season back from illness but whitewashing everyone Rossi included. look back a Phillip Island 09 Rossi tried and tried but never got both wheels infront of stoner the whole race. Estoril ditto etc. Stoner issue was the crash at the end of 09 (valencia) and now his confidence has gone as he started qatar clear favorite and handed it to rossi. Stoner is a confidence rider thrives on dominating everyone and at the moment he can't (with the Gp10) although it may also be partly due to Livio Suppo now gone he was good at keeping stoner happy (thus winning) Honda may help in 11!!

Pernat is obviously referring to winning the CHAMPIONSHIP, not winning RACES. You can win a bunch of races, but still lose the championship (Rossi in 2006). You can even lead the championship at the early stages and still lose it (Jorge in 2009).

The quicker Stoner accepts he does not have the right mental approach the quicker he can do something about it, he is a whimp and moaning ba*****. He is not in the same league as the other riders in Moto GP when it comes to the way he behaves both on and off the bike.He simply cant handle Hayden kicking his **** either.
