Good to see Simoncelli progressing so quickly. He'll definitely be rookie of the year at this rate. Last year he kicked Ben Spies butt in WSBK and he's already leading the rookie points race despite having ridden in only half as many GP's as Spies has. Go Marco !!

future race winner? more than likely.
future motogp champion? not likely.

in 1 more year, dovi, spies will still be better riders than him. maybe even aoyama too. we'll see

"Good to see Simoncelli progressing so quickly"

Dude get real.

He's just now progressing out of last place for every session. All the Marco chanting ground to a halt months ago.

Points don't really hold water when there is a field of 17 riders and Marco has only been in the top 10 once. That was a ninth. Spies has a 5th and a 7th. I will give it to Marco in that WSBK RACE. Spies had a bike problem, but I will give it to Marco.

@ crasher

Spies had the WSBK Championship riding on the race Simon beat him at.

So I guess if you are trying to play it safe and walk away with a World Championship you would not try to bring it on home (yeah right). With Simon and Max sticking it up in there several times during the race Ben did the right thing and let them go by.

Ben had to win the first race. And did. And if need be I am sure the results in the second race would have been much different.
