It'll be interesting to see how well he does on a bike that's as fast as everyone else's. Lack of seat time compared to the others might hurt him a bit though. Good luck to him, hope it all goes well.

He'll finally be on a bike that is just as competitive as the front runners instead of something that's as slow as a turtle compared to the rest of the field. Hopefully he'll be near the front or mid-pack during the race/practices and can turn a good result for himself.

RL is a better 600 rider than a Superbike rider. Wish the original M2 deal would have worked. Sadly, even if he shows what he can do it's a one off race. Unless Kevin can talk American Honda into running the rest of the season RL gets to go back to running last.

If I'm not mistaken, he was originally suppose to go to Moto2 but the funding fell through.

Too bad Moto2 doesn't race at Laguna. He would have had the home track advantage and definitely could have shown more there.

But Indy is closer to his home so it's good for him either way.

With Indy being only a 3 hour drive away from Roger's hometown I'm sure he'll have several fans there for him (and Nicky, Spies, and Edwards). I'm not sure if any of the AMA teams test at Indy (it's not on the event schedules) so hopefully he'll have seen the track before. He'll also have his brother to give him several pointers while he's there so this could end up being a good race for him to show what he can really do.

and as my American self, I'll be rooting for all the Americans. Nicky, Spies, Edwards, Noyes, and Roger!

I read this yesterday and wanted to comment on it.. this is the most stupid ride Roger could ever get. American Honda what are you thinking? Schwantz also.. You guys have no clue this guy needs time to set up the bike, a bike he has never ridden, a track he has never done equal potentially bad result. American honda should have picked Disalvo, Hacking, or any other 28+ rider to do this.. but not Roger! makes no sense!!

I laughed so hard at this story I gave myself a hernia.
No-one else I can think of is as worthy for a Motogp wildcard than Butterball Hayden, he can swap backmarking in WSBK to back marking in Motogp.
You couldn't write better comedy than that. 2 of the most unworthy hillbilly brothers in 1 paddock. You can see the clan arriving looking like a less classey version of the Clampetts.

You have to remember that Roger Lee finshed 10th of the Kawasaki MotoGp bike at Laguna back in 07 so he isn't completely crap as he looks in SBK.

On a seperate note how many of the Hayden boys sound inbred when they give interviews?

Yeah, country people obviously suck. These boys must have made it into pro racing on the Affirmative Action plan. If only poorshanutt et al. would step up and show us how its done ... You sad f*ckers
