MotoGP » Dovizioso to be downgraded?

It's all but confirmed that Rossi is gone. As David Emmett over at mottomatters says today in a post on Dovi all the signs that everyone in the paddock is receiving from insiders say so.

Rossi is doing ZERO PR stuff for Yamaha in the US this week unlike years past. He wasn't at the Leno show with Jorge, he wasn't at the Leno warehouse for the PR shoot with Yamaha stars Rainey, Roberts, Lawson, Jorge, Colin, and Ben, he will not be available for the fans with the rest of the guys, etc. Remember, Yamaha dumped millions of dollars in Laguna for upgrading the track so they could race there. They have more invested there and always do more PR than any other manufacturer for Laguna.

Think back a couple of weeks when Nicky, Aleix, and Mika did the PR stuff at Aragon. Where was Stoner? A few days later it was announced he was going to Honda.

Dovi will not be pleased with that if he gets downgraded back to a satelite Honda where he started. To rectify things Colin is considering switching back to WSBK with the Ducati Factory team.

"Colin is considering switching back to WSBK with the Ducati Factory team."

Please tell me where I can find the article on that.

Remember, he had a contract with Ducati WSBk waiting on him after he won WSBK in 2002. His Castrol/Honda team pulled out and the Repsol ride fell through. Aprillia took him to GPs but Ducati was were he was headed if he didn't get a GP ride on Michelins.

Its very tough  Either Dovizioso gets a sponsor (which seems to be equally tough in MotoGP) or as the report goes, he gets downgraded  What seems to be equally unfair is the few minority factory bikes against the majority of satellite's which are it seems a mile off the pace  Having said this, I have the greatest of respect for these guys due to the risks they face and I wish Anrdea all the best and hopefully he stays on the factory bike with a sponsor :)

This silly season musical chairs stuff is quite intriguing. Unfortunatly I think it will have a negative effect on the remaining races.

Maybe Rossi's holding back on his announcement so he doesn't get handed a Tech3 bike for the remainder of the season! :-o

I know this is a fairly insignificant point, but i'm getting fed up of reading how Dovi's been a honda rider throughout his career and this should therefore be a reason for him to keep the factory ride over Pedrosa, somehow forgetting the fact that Pedrosa's only ever ridden Hondas as well!

Well.. Dats pathetic! No doubt Dovi isn't performing how a factory rider should perform. But does anyone remember he was 4th in the overall championship on the Scot Honda... The bike on which Yuki Takahashi did nothing at all in 2009 . Plz correct me if m wrong. Repsol honda should provide him a better crew as both their bikes differ a lot unlike the Yamahas. Common Honda its big time, treat ur riders equally else this will be a blind sport! The satellite bikes r racing amongsts themselves already anyway....
