It is very possible that Tomizawa sustained fatal injuries in the crash itself however the race should have been red flagged. He was clearly unconscious at the track side. Given the mechanism of injury and the fact that a proper assessment of his spine could obviously not take place in his condition an instant red flag and full spinal precautions should have been implemented. C-collar and spinal board if he was not time critical at that point. I very much hope that the marshals that dragged him away do not find that in the process they severed his spinal cord or caused him to aspirate the contents of his stomach which may have contributed to his death. A very sad event but one which should be learned from. Just ask Wayne rainy. Very sorry to Shoya Tomizawas family and friends. In case any of them read this fan site, good luck in this time of mourning.

Devastating news and I am devastated that a 19 year old young man with such potential have succumbed to injuries. He was at one time leading the race. On lap 15 his front give way on the markers. He was hit by Alex de Angelis who was directly behind him, then he was run over by Scott Redding across the midriff. Both of them went down. Only Alex was able to get on his feet and walk away. Thank god Scott have recovered conscious and is doing ok so far.

My condolences to the Family of Shoya Tomizawa and to Shoya Tomizawa, Rest In Peace, you was something to watch, especially your first place at Qatar.

Dray .... a fan.
