The Spaniard still has a 56 point lead over Dani Pedrosa, but it is slowly coming down.

He must be feeling the effects of not having Valentino develop the bike.. It clearly shows the decline in performance of the M1, and the rise of Honda's and the Ducati. Can't imagine what will happen to Yamaha on 2012 when the rule is changed once more.

You'd be a brave man to put your money on him not being back on the podium to be honest.
Its gonna be interesting to see if Ducati have cracked their front end woes and can be at the front again for the last races or if they just clicked with the last track and will be struggling again. 46 will be hoping its the former.
And as for Rossi - its also gonna be interesting to see what he has to offer at Motegi. I reckon if he is as off the pace as last round it will be just make the idea of finishing early and getting his op even easier.
Pedrosa will be quick here (although where isn't he?). Its a real sh*tter that Honda didn't get themselves up to speed sooner cos Lorenzo would have had to really work for it this year against Dani.

Hmmmmm not so sure, motegi is not a track that favours the Yam strength (Agility) with some really strong braking areas and afew long straights it will be a Ducati/Honda track for sure (Though Honda Own it) would not be surprised with the same podium as last time maybe in a different order!!! We will see!!!

@cris, re: He must be feeling the effects of not having Valentino develop the bike

bullocks.

he is feeling the effect of 6 engine rule and the fact that Yamaha has to withhold updates from Vale/JB ducati spies as they fancy their chances in 2011

like rossi said before, if ducati and honda found their solution in corner speed. it would be a serious problem for yamaha. and it seems rossi is damn right. just look at motegi...
