@stavros, if you check the analysis by lap in motogp dot com, you'll find out that Hayden lap time was faster than Rossi's most of the time. Rossi wouldn't let Hayden stuck in his real wheel for too long if he has the pace to pull away.

It was Rossi skill and determination to win that held the faster ducati behind

... and that 4 straight win is with a ducati :p

Stoners pace at PI is astonishing, unexplainable. He doesn't know himself how he does it.

Lorenzo showed maturity in his riding, no disgrace in coming 2nd when Stoners in this form. He has gone 6 races since a win now, he needs to look into that.

The yams are looking a bit jaded lately, apart from the win last week of course. Have they run out of ideas?

Lorenzo hasn't won any of the last 6 races, but he is the rider that's collected more points if you put the 6 together. In 4 of those races he was riding an underpowered bike. In 5 of them he was playing it safe to win the Championship. I don't know if he really needs to look into anything. Next circuit, Estoril, may well be to Lorenzo what PI is to Stoner. Let's not forget Lorenzo won there in his rookie season with the inferior Michelin tires, and last year. He may well go for the third straight win in Portugal.

TG , This isn't the NASCAR site. Save you bigoted comments for the rest of your 6th grade class. GP is too good for you,, and you are not a welcome (pretend) fan.

"Hayden's Ducati faster than Rossi's M1
Lorenzo's M1 faster than Hayden's Ducati
so
Lorenzo's M1 faster than Rossi's M1
Lorenzo faster than Rossi"

so is Stoner Ducati faster than Lorenzo M1, what's your point? Yes Lorenzo faster than Rossi in term of lap time but Rossi won the fight all the time with Lorenzo...:p

@John Don Letoy
The point is for the same bike either lorenzo setting better or lorenzo riding style faster than rossi most of the time for this year.

it's not about how many you won the fight, it's all about how many point you collect. In other word it's about how many times you finish in front of your rival.
Yes, "maybe" you can always win one on one battle, but if that case rare happen and your rival can easyly escape far in front of you, means you can't give battle and it's mean you collect less point.
I know it's very borring to see racing like parade, but it's racing, it's about who finished first not about who "capable" to winning head to head battle. And if you can manage to consistant collect "more" point than your rival means you will be world champion.
