MotoGP » Lorenzo: It was Stoner's race

"I kept trying but I didn't have much hope and half way through I decided it was better not to take risks" - Jorge Lorenzo.

@lorenzo faster than rossi

"it's not about how many you won the fight, it's all about how many point you collect"

Following that logic, then Stoner's 23 wins over Rossi's 21 in 800 era is meaningless, since Rossi won 2 titles and Stoner only won 1.

Points collected for one year only, not commulated to next years, so count the wins year by year not the whole carrier.

That's also apply to points leading collected by Lorenzo right now, next year all start from zero point. And Point collection will be calculated for next year point only.

If next year rossi keep can't catch the front runner, then his "battle abbilities" will be meaningless. But every point collected will be count, and the most points in the end will be 2011 WC.

How does this square up in the equation, Nicky Hayden has won the same amount of Motogp world titles as Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo, yet he has only ever won three races.
And he's probably better thought of than the other two.

I do not understand any of your logic on here. It al depends on what people prefer and what criteria is being used to judge the racers! if you use the same criteria then then in each category a different rider will be the best. OK..lets talk wins..Rossi has everyone by a mile!(but he has also been in longer) lets talk title..Rossi has everyone beat as well which is what matters in the end but ok lets talk 800cc wins..Stoner is the man..but has 1 less title than Rossi nd so does Lorenzo who cannot hold a light to Stoner and Rossi on race wins. PS Stoner was champ in his second year (first year on Ducati) so that to me is a bigger achievement than JL 3rd year on Yamaha! Rossi also won title on 2nd year in Grand Prix. So stop comparing apples to oranges..pick a category and make ur point... In the end Rossi has them all and they are all trying to live up to that!

@Bambang, re: Why did you conveniently left out the 4th? It should be 4 of the top bikes are 2 Yamaha and 2 Ducati.

why did you conveniently leave out 5th? 3 out of top five are Yamahas

@cyclopatic. Can you seriously name a Ducati rider, other than CS and NH who can mix it with the top guys (aliens plus ben, hayden, sic and edwards)?

In this case, the difference of riders' skill is so huge, it won't make any difference if they ride Ducati, Honda or Yamaha.
They will still be back markers.

@bob. Your math sucks

"Roundly booed on the podium, he'll be starting to think no-one loves him." No moonwalks, flag planting or water dives (unless its over the edge of Siberia) for J-Lo at the Island next year... Used to enjoy his 250cc performances, now he needs knocking off his little perch - Enter VR, #27 and J-Lo's 2011 "Team Mate" Spies...
