Mid season the works Yams were almost the slowest on the track and suudenly they are the fastest!! If this is something to do with the 6 engine rule, or fuel consumption then it is spoiling the series. A lot has been made of Lorenzo not winning for 6 races, which also coincides with the slow engine period. Maybe Rossi could have garnered a few extra points during that period with the engine 'turned up' a bit.
How come the works Honda was well down on top speed list in Portugal? Both Gresini bikes were much faster.

I understand now why there are Lorenzo haters out there. The kid is just brilliant! He is in no doubt on his way to becoming a legend. He is the only rider in our common era that has been able to step away Rossi's shadow and that alone is really hard for anyone to swallow. With this win he sends out a strong message to Rossi/Burges. Lorenzo can ride and "DEVELOP" a bike under hard conditions (without Rossi's data) like he has done all year. Now with Spies and edwards ability to also help in the development of the M1 and no fighting against team mates, i see them not having any trouble being successful again next year.

The reason there are Lorenzo haters is people who have attended races and met the guy generally dislike him. Last year the first time I met him he blew me off for a signature (which I have on video)which no rider I have ever met has done to me. Dovi actually came back when I begged for a signature and this year at Indy, despite the leg injury, Rossi worked the entire area around the stage signing anything people gave him, no other rider did that this year with almost all of them stopping at the end of the front. Lorenzo was a total robot this year, constantly looking at Lin Jarvis for direction as to what to do, he is so lost and not in touch with the fans. Amazing talent but projects self-centeredness. He will never be the people's champ.

Olek, Jorge doesn't care whether you are his friend or not. He would like you to wear his no.99 shirts as these will line his pockets. Do you believe that Vale wants to be friends with everyone? On camera, yes. In reality he lives in London to stop the average Joe "Begging" him to return for a signature when out in public.

This is racing. It's not some sort of stage show. The stage show crap is what people want from their hero's so as the have some sort of "Bond" with them. The problem with this show over the football/soccer/baseball/basketball thing is that this is a one man show. Team sports involve many as one, not some single effort that the hands of time WILL wipe away from the top flight.
Leave the bells and whistles of team Yellow/red or blue to the football terraces. Chasing Hero's will make you realise that YOU'RE getting conned by their PR men.

@Olek, I met Lorenzo at Laguna Seca and he was super cool and respectful. Signed my autograph and even chatted for a second. Then I watched as he was bombarded by fans throwing their arms around him and being a bit overbearing. Despite that he smiled and posed for every photo and signed every autograph. Rossi on the other hand I have seen on numerous occasions and I have watched as he sits in his car waiting for Brivio to come pick him up on a scooter so he doesn't have to sign autographs for the 5 people waiting outside of his car. I even watched Rossi snub a guy who had painted a really cool pic of Rossi after looking at the painting and moving on. In fact I have every single riders autograph except for Rossi's. These guys are athletes who's focus is to perform. Rossi performs in front of the camera so he can tell his fans to f**K off, off camera. At least Lorenzo makes an effort connect with his fans using social media.
