I don't think that Spies is going to get the factory kit this weekend but maybe?? It should be a good race though! There is a lot of pride out there. I am sure that ever rider that is changing teams will want to go out with a bang. Like wise, every current rider that is expecting a new team mate will want to show how fast they are to their team. Not to mention this track always seem to deliver some good close races. I am not sure if I am looking more forward to the races or testing next week. Also... Congrats to Lorenzo on a great season! Well deserved! I am looking forward to next year!

Rossi did his last run with a used rear tire that "looked like being over race distance" while Lorenzo did his time with a new soft rear.

Early days...

And Spies looks faster than Hayden !

Unfortunately, as I recall, races at Valencia are very boring - a lot of space between each riders, and very seldom a fight to the line... but then again, that's MotoGP/800/Bridgestone'd for you...

Heh, he comes in in the last 5 minutes to blot on a brand new soft tyre in order to go out and do a qualifying one off lap to get on top so he can play to the non-the-wiser partisan crowd.

Fair play though. I dont hold it against him. It's only practice, and he wanted to give his fans a reason to cheer. I just thought it was interesting psychology wise that he REALLY wanted to be on top in that FP session (IE. He's not too confident of winning the actual race). Given stoners pace he figured it was his best chance to top at least some sort of session.

"And Spies looks faster than Hayden !"

You do realize these are practices, for ironing out issues with the bikes. Practices have no bearing on the final positions at the end of the race.

By your account, eight other riders are faster than Rossi and 9 faster than Hayden.

This is a very silly decree. Wait until the race, mmmk?

Some of you are talking like it is unusual for the riders to put a soft tire for the last minutes of each session and go for a quick lap. Get over Lorenzo being almost 4 tenths faster than Stoner, and much more than Rossi.
