As a big Ben Spies and Nicky Hayden fan, I could argue that Hayden actually had a better year then Spies . Ben Spies had 2 podiums , but was at least 2 seconds behind the 3rd place finisher in all of his other finishes , Nicky Hayden on the otherhand, only had 1 podium, but on 6 of his non podium finishes he was under 1.5 seconds behind the 3rd place finisher.

Let the American bashing continue..... Maybe you people would get off his nuts if he was Spanish....

Or maybe some of you like being on his nuts.....

What is it about Americans that you really dont like?

@Des,

"Any way you cut it, 7th for a factory rider is a failure."

I'm sure you're "OK" with Crutchlow being promoted to MotoGP after finishing 5th in SBK on the factory Yamaha?!

I'm not trying to start anything, just pointing out an interesting comparison.

I like Nicky but i thinks it's fair to say he's only a 4th or 5th man ok 3rd on a good day and he's not gonna out shine his new team mate next year and anyone who thinks so has'nt been watching motogp for very long........

Nick had a good season compared with 2009.Big improvement and I hope it continues next year for him.
Just get the feeling that,as was the case in the past, his team mate will benefit more from the factory next year,as the season unfolds.
Nick always seems to draw the short end of the stick in that department.
Rossi/Hayden at Honda.Pedrosa/Hayden at Honda 800.
Equal treatment alongside Stoner at Ducati.
Next year back to the bad old days.
In all fairness though,he's not alien, hence,no wins on a factory bike in his second season with it.

In 2008 on a satellite Ducati 800 ,Toni Elias secured a second place in CZ and a third in SMR.It was his only season on that bike,so much for no one else being able to get a result on the Ducati?GF

thougt 7th was pretty good. When you consider Stoner who again next year is a shoe-in for the title could only get 4th and two of the guys infront of him have been injured and missed races and Casey has had a full season then Nickys results(there are only 4 aliens at the moment, altough Simo and Spies are charging hard)are pretty good. Let's not pretend for a moment that whislt the duke is a factory bike it does not struggle against the tech 3 and pizza bikes.
7th is more a nod to the development ability of ducatis lead rider. Being utterly clueless as to whats going on has lead poor Casey on a merry dance leaving ducati with a bike that no one knows what it will do from one week to the next.
Make no mistake Casey is running away from the duke in the hope that someone has done a better job at Honda and on his first ride I pretty much reckon they have, although just piping an injured and very sore Dani isn't that impressive for me. Expect Nicky to do mch better next year no question.
