MotoGP » Crutchlow: Time is lacking – but I'm a fast learner

Very thoughtful of CRASH to generate some belated moderation drama to fill the off season when most topics are full of supposition, prediction and frustrated waiting.
It now really doesn't matter how or why CC got the MotoGP seat, whether he deserves to be there or not will be decided in next year's races. Hopefully he is brave enough to try to be fast (but not foolish) and gets reward for it.
If nothing else the British supporters deserve some return after previous MotoGP expectations were highly under realised.

So being amongst the most outspoken and definitely the most disrespectful fans around makes them deserving? What a laugh.
Considering they haven't had a single win, let alone a champion in 34 years, you'd think they'd be a bit more gun shy with the predictions! Crikey they rarely have a hometown hero in their national championship!
Accept the derision, all the riders cop it, but most of all, support him with some realistic expectations and don't drop one on him from a great height if he fails!
That will be taken care of by others who shall remain nameless! Hehe...

Good luck to Cal and if he can keep up with his team mate that would be good enough in his 1st year.

Good to see the Crash.net moderator starting to do their job, but I hope their new found conscious isnt only tainted towards things said about a certain rider, because it seems you can write anything you want about any other rider with immunity.

No beer, work tonite!
Ahhh, the cricket!
I've prolly played as much backyard cricket as any man alive, however, that cricket is as far removed from the bunch of overpaid, overrated nancyboys that play these days, as they are from the real cricketers who played for the passion of the sport 25 years or more ago. I don't care if the whinging poms teach the bunch of pooves a lesson at all.
Actually a lot like comparing a rider who gets the results with the backing of DORNA/Michelin etc to riders who win despite the underdog tag, wouldn't you say?

This is different, I can finally read through all these posts and it doesn't get turned into a giant hate fest!
Guys that usually are full of hate have been putting up lucid posts. Oops I might get deleted for going off topic, but that is okay.

Just to echo what one or two others have said about Cal, I had a chance to meet him a couple of times during promotional engagements this year and in person he does come across as a super friendly guy and very approachable. He can get a bit flustered when a mic is shoved in his hand and he doesn't have the easy media confidence of a Colin Edwards or a Valentino, but then not every pro rider gets comfortable with that side of it.

It's going to be pretty darn tough for him this year, but props to him for wanting to step it up and better himself. I just hope like Bob says that some of the more excitable Brit contingent don't throw him under the bus while he's still learning to put it all together.
