M&M have only recently entered the motorcycle market in india with 2 bikes. So i'm pretty sure that only if Engines Engineerings come up with some good bike, can they be competitive.

Terrible move for him. Giancarlo Cecchini is the same designer and chief engineer that worked on the Maxtra/Haojue 125, along side Engines Engineering. He/they also had their finger in with Loncin and currently run the Lambretta's, which you've got to believe are the 09 Loncin bikes.

I really can't see this season going Webb's way. He must be hoping to shine on obsolete machinary. Either that, or decent money is being waved in his direction. Fairly confident it's the latter. I wonder if he had the option to stay with the Andalucia team, he's been consistently quick.

Either way, I can't wait for next season. We've got Brits in each catagory and I'll be cheering for each and every one of them! Tempted to put a few quid on Redding for the Moto2 crown..

Terrible move for both Danny and Schrotter, both can be quick on good machinery, the only reason the team is being called Mahindra and Mahindra is because they will sponsor the team, just like Malaguti, Loncin and Lambretta did, this is pretty much the worst bike in the paddock, roll on Moto3 where they can start from stcrach i say!

Engines Engineering wo'nt come up with a good bike
They will just repaint the Loncin/Lambretta another
time, it will be hopeless, slow and very unreliable.

Giancarlo Cecchini is one of the best and most experienced Italian racing mechanics with 50 years of
working on racing bikes behind him. He certainly had nothing to do with the disastrous Maxtra/Haojue which was made by Witteveen and Franco Moro. This Haojue
was incredibly bad, one of the worst 125cc machines
ever made! Slow, unreliable and dangerous to ride.
Giancarlo is now working on the Lambretta which will
be named Mahindra next year, trying to improve a flawed design that was not made by him.

I think you will find Dorna 'Jumped the Gun' with the announcement about Danny and Schrotter joining the team.

It wasnt supposed to be announced until mid Jan, but to clear up a few points :- Mahindra will not just be another sponsor of the old Loncin/Lambretta project, Mahindra have bought Engines Engineering completly, they are now part of the Mahindra group. The 2011 project is a completly new project so dont expect to see a rebadged Lambretta.

As pointed out earlier, they had nothing to do with the Maxtra/Haojue project.

I have it on good authority, although unreliable the 2010 engine was quick and was regularly in the top 3 bikes through the speed traps, unfortunalty its low down grunt was missing and was slow out of the corners.

2011 is a transition year before we get Moto3, which surely is the goal for this project, Mahindra sold nearly 16,000 scooters in India, in November !!

Nothing on Dannys website about the project either, lets wait for the launch

sfbrain,
not sure where you got your info on the speed through the traps of the Lambretta, it was one of the slowest bike through the speed traps ( see motogp website )all season. Danny Kent did show that the bike had a bit of promise though.

I have trawled the net and come across pictures of what seems to be next years Mahindra bike, tube frame with engine producing 53bhp, still a bit down on the Aprilla RSA.

Good luck to Danny Webb though. Still waiting conformation as to where Dannk Kent is going.
