I find the bikes involved in these close finishes (either as winner or runner up)interesting, . By my count the RC211V was in 10 (50%), the M1(800) in 5, the M1(1000) in 4 and the GP07 in one.
Is this a testiment to Honda's efforts in the 990 era to provide very close to works bikes and support to teams other than Repsol? Hopefully Honda's committment to support four works riders in 2011 will lead to the 212V getting on the list.
As an aside I think anyone who claims that Rossi won't be missed when he retires are over reacting to counter those who claim that Rossi's retirment will be the end of MotoGP. Both claims seem false to me.

Well hasn't this site changed. Now its just real down to earth deep discussions about frames, spark plugs and rules. You wouldn't know it was the same site.

It won't get entered here because Sete ran off on the final corner, so Rossi won by several seconds, but Jerez 2005 but was the best finish of the 4T era IMHO. Two guys, totally on the limit, a million miles in front of anyone else, great battle. Estoril comes close as well because Toni was so out of control!

But my favourite finish of all time was Brno in 96, when Criville pipped Doohan by like 0.002 or something. Mick was seriously p1ssed off!
