Interesting analysis. The only Ducati on the list ranked joint 'stone' last. That was the GP 07.
Yet commenters still say Stoner had a huge advantage 07,08,09.
Well to be fair,he did have a huge advantage...
sheer guts and raw talent.
Problem for Ducati is,that huge advantage will be with HRC this year.

This list is a little unfair because Honda flooded the grid with riders and bikes in the early 2000's. How remarkable is it to put three Hondas on the podium when a third of the bikes on the grid are usually Hondas? They also had some very well funded teams that could attract and pay top riders.

A more fair way would have been to average the number of points per race per rider. The Hondas would probably still dominate, but some of the other brands might have had a better showing.

I really cant believe there are any 800's on the list at all. They're the anti-fun bikes, sure they look deceptively similar to their 990 brethren, but underneath the carbon bodywork lies a potent combination of soulless technology and a lack of torque :)... Seriously though, I'd rather see the 2007 iteration of Suzuki's 990 V4 (which finished 4th with Hopper aboard) than any of the 800's.

I think Jeremy Burgess said it is 80% rider and 20% machine. So where are we now with Ben Spies? The guy is a phenomenon. Does'nt matter so much about machine
although with factory backing it does make a difference. Ben is now a future champion. Watch out Jorge! And never write off Rossi. Whatever the sponsor, class will always show.

Camel Yamaha may be the most sexiest bike but it had a serious chatter problems....Yamaha is far better than honda in overall package from 2005 & 2008 - 2010....who will forget the 2005 Yamaha eating the hondas in every main straights....
