Why am I not suprised people think this is because of Rossi and Ducati..

If anyone followed the GP last season they will remember all the riders saying that Friday morning was a waste of time mucking around waiting for the afternoon testing. If all the gear is already there why not go out for 45 minutes!!

Its not because of Rossi

I believe that if you check your math there is more time now. There will be 3-45min sessions plus 1hr quali. Last season there were only 2 1-hour sessions plus qualifying. My math says that's 15 minutes more.

For what its worth, news from Jerez Ducati GP testing day 1 sounds as 'smokescreened' as Valencia last year.
Between the lines..'not as fast as we had expected'.
Humidity, dirty track and blame it on the Stones, but it was a positive test,me improving the front end feel and chassis,Franco working on the traction, electronic control systems.
'the factory riders will just have to wring its neck in 2 weeks time'..I guess.

@I wonder who would have won the BMW this year

I find BMW so boring, too many years at MotoGP as a Quali sponsor (M Awards). I would love to see a faster rider getting awarded with one of these:

a) Ferrari 458 Italia
b) Audi R8 V10 Spyder
c) Porsche 911 GT2RS

So, BMW M-series is no match to those cars. And most importantly, fastest rider deserves the fastest and the best car after the end of the season :)

@ Dr Dan your math is correct, but OTM was referring to what the GP commission said 9/12/10...4 x 1hour sessions intro 2011.They've shortened it scince then.
Different points of reference.
Anyway, let's see what Jerez day 2 brings.
More 'upbeat' talk I guess. Well, they have to.
Can't wait to see what Tissot say about the hype, two weeks hence. Strictly math,I guess.

Catch Curl Low,
Just think about it....

Do you think FIM would have reinstated the extra practice if Rossi would have gotten good times at Valencia final practice in 2010. No way.
