I think Ben is already showing that he's going to be there or thereabouts at every test, in every practice session and in every race this year.

And despite yesterday's mishap, he's NOT a crasher, which I reckon puts him in a very strong position to be a contender this year. Speed + consistency = big prizes.

At Yamaha,Jorge will start this season as the #1 rider,he may not be that by mid season? It will be odd to see Jorge "in Rossi's shoes" in such a short time. And how he deals with that, especially after some comments he made in 2010?Ben isn't coming,he is here!He well may be the top Yamaha much sooner than anyone can imagine?Especially Jorge!?GF

I seriously doubt Lorenzo will ask to stop sharing data with Spies if Spies becomes a serious contender. That's Rossi's tactic, not Lorenzo's. Last year, when data wasn't shared because Rossi asked for it, Lorenzo allowed Rossi to test his settings during the weekend at LeMans, at a moment when Rossi was still very much of a threat. After his injury, Rossi was yet again allowed to use Lorenzo's setting in an attempt to make his bike gentler to ride, with no luck because they both have very different riding styles. Lorenzo has always asked for equal treatment with his teammate and be allowed the same parts at the same time, and he won't deny equal treatment to Spies even if Ben beats him, which I respectfully doubt.

I see that Ben stuck around for the full day of testing this time around. Good times for him, and that classic Yamaha looks pretty good. By his times I guess he didn't try out the new chassis. Yamaha are taking this season very seriously. Two engines, multiple chassis - they've been busy this off season and it looks like Ben will reap the benefits and be in a good position to make a run for the title. Has he learned to run with the big boys early in the race, that's the big question but nothing in the tests so far to give an indication either way.
