Former 250GP runner-up and World Superbike race winner Fonsi Nieto confirms he is retiring from motorcycle racing.

What a shame that he couldn't recover fully to compete as he would like to. But he is still a young man in life and is leaving with many years ahead to pursue other interest and do other things.

Great guy, I'm sure he will be a part of the paddock in some other capacity.

Rest easy, enjoy your retirement and thank you for entertaining us all these years!

THE best thing about Fonsi's paddock presence, certainly after his 250 days of success, was the ever present Mrs Nieto...we will miss her, trust me on that lol..

tough one on X.Simeon, waited and waited for a ride, 2/3 days after he secures one after all his effort one comes along!!! Shame about Fonsi but I'm sure he won't be forgotten :)
