This is what Matt Birt had to say:

Not much between Yamaha and Honda on hard tyre but Casey clearly the fastest guy by a long way here.

I am sure he is only going to get faster.

I really do hope JB and Rossi get that bike working, its very dissapointing to see the Ducati so far down after years of it being near the top.

How on earth can people become so excited over these times? So they should be running under 2 mins! In fact mid 1: 58 s s/be possible if they had improved the bikes over last year with virtually the same regs. A .5 sec to .75 sec gain over Vales time last year is not impressive at all on either the riders or the teams. Alot of the people who comment on here will not even see the races - if they get this carried away and argumentitive with each other over testing - come the race they must be wetting themselves and contsrantly changing their pants! Unreal......

Casey Casey Casey.
What a masterful display.
Anyone who has seen Casey ride knows that he is something special.
I have seen him ride a number of times at Phillip Island and it is truly something brilliant to watch.

Now that he is on a good bike, beware everyone else.

The Ducati that Vale is riding is sick!!!. Unfortunately, Vale has caught the disease.

P.S If you have the money, buy a Casey replica CBR1000R now!!!!

Why do people carp on about Rossi leaving, I've watched since the 500's and enjoyed every era. Doohan a 5 in a row world champ was only replaced by Rossi and Rossi will be replaced by another and the show will roll on.

If any mistake was made in this era it was the sole promotion of one rider by Dorna at the expense of the field. Rossi has clearly had his day, a great racer in his time but not an equal to Stoner and Lorenzo on equal machinery let alone the Ducati.

If he was still a main man he should of at least had Stoners old bike up the pointy end, but getting beaten by a Ducati satellite rider and being no higher than 10th overall says it all.

Heres a quote from HRC boss Shuhei Nakamoto in MCN 16th feb 2011 "Jorge Lorenzo is the world champion and he will be very strong but Valentino is Valentino. Many people have said to me that Honda is very strong but it is still not easy. Yamahas top speed is getting better and when Valentino understands the characteristics of the Ducati he will be very strong again. Ducatis Filippo Preziosi is a very clever man. Unfortunately for us he'll fix all the problems "
Straight from the horses mouth !
Go Vale !!!!!!!!

im a rossi fan but this time my hats off to stoner.

could this be a stoner wc 2011 in the making? maybe the first and last champion of the 800 cc era? looks like a seamless transition from the duc. i know its only pre-season testing but this test should and will reflect their performances at least for the first half of the season i suppose. then maybe vale will get to grips with the duc?

roll on 2011!

Ty46: "Guys, Stoner's pace is not a race pace... The fastest race lap is 2.02.1 What he does today is useless showoff. On hard tires he was at 2.01.3 yesterday "

Good you pick up a number like 2.02.1 for race pace, than Rossi can maybe match this pace. But, Sorry Ty46, this pace is of the mid-pack where the Ducatis the Suzukies are going to be,the race pace of the front runner is going to be sub 2.01.
